I had the black flickering until I enabled "FSR Non-Linear sRGB Input". Now it works perfectly
Easy fix, install optiscaler and pick FSR3.1 if you really want it, XESS works just fine though.
I want to try this, but if I understand correctly I should disable XeSS/TSR first, but how can I do that? There is no option it seems
Where did you put the files? they should go into this path: SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Expedition 33/Sandfall/Binaries/Win64/
Reshade works and it essentially works the same way.
Also, when you run the automated setup (i assume you do), make sure to say Yes to the "DLSS Inputs" option, so that you enable DLSS ingame. Enabling FSR via XeSS resulted in a similar black screen/still frame for me, but FSR via DLSS works perfectly fine.
Boosted my framerate to a stable 115 at 4k max.
In other games, I can fix the frame rate at twice the normal speed (120fps), but when I use it in this game, the frame rate fluctuates wildly.
XeSS is actually proving to be really useful for handhelds like the steam deck and often delivers better performance and visuals than FSR. I think it also runs better on Linux based machines as well.
But yes. The omission of FSR is odd. It's open source and costs them nothing. I can only assume they had limited time and Nvidia was in their face about getting DLSS in there because its great publicity for them - and while its good that FSR is free to use AMD doesn't do enough to push it.
It's possible they are waiting to implement FSR 4 but you would think they could still put FSR 3 in while they wait - who knows - only thing you can do is bug the developers as nothing will come from steam forums.
