No FSR, no frame gen...
The game is running TERRIBLY without FSR and FG, there is XeSS for some reason (which nobody uses), but the most important things are not in the game... how is that even possible.

Averaging 80 FPS with the auto benchmarked settings of medium and high it gave me.

Ryzen 7 5800X 4.28 GHz
RTX 3060 Ti
32GB RAM
My game was automatically set to Medium settings as well, but it barely runs at stable 60 fps even on low settings... I can really feel the FSR and FG missing lol.

I'm using Optiscaler to enable FSR 4, using DLSS inputs. Looks a hell of a lot better than XeSS and TSR. Real shame it doesn't have FSR built in though.
How did you get it to work specifically? When I enable FSR4 the game just displays the same frame all the time and looks like it froze until I revert it.

It supports XeSS which is currently simply better than FSR and works on any card, including AMD cards. Simply use XeSS and stop crying.
The game not supporting frame gen (in general. not with DLSS and not with XeSS or FSR) is an actual valid critic though...
You're wrong, fsr 4 is better than xess 2 for AMD owners

Yes, XESS 2 doesn't work in the same way for not intel cards

If it runs bad without FG, it'll still run bad with FG. Optiscaler works on this game if you want to use FSR that badly. I'm currently using it for FSR4.
I also currently use it for FSR 4, but i have some black screen flicker in cutscenes. You also got that problem?

I can play games like GoW Ragnarok with everything on ultra settings, 1080p with FG enabled and the game didn't go under 80 fps most of the time and it was one of the smoothest experiences I have ever experienced in a game, same for Wukong for example, even though Wukong didn't run THAT great, it was still much more playable than Expedition 33, so it's not my PC that is the issue.
If that was "one of the smoothest experiences you have ever experienced in a game" this still means your pc is ♥♥♥♥ and Ragnarök was just exceptionally well optimized (which makes sense considering nearly all big Playstation games sell multiple millions at minimum, so unlike small indie developers with ambitious AA games, they can actually afford such high optimization).
What kind of excuse is this "Ragnarök was just exceptionally well optimized". It doesn't matter if the game was worth $10M or $300M, optimization should be on the very first place.

My PC is more than enough for a game like this, but unfortunately there are people like you who will defend bad optimization and lack of settings to make the game run better just because you have overkill PC which most people can't afford. Your opinion is stupid and I don't really care :)

If you have nothing smart to say, don't even bother replying.

You can activate Frame Generation on AMD cards using Adrenalin Software using AFMF 2.1. Works pretty good in-game. Getting up to 140fps with a 9800X3D / 7900 XTX at 4K.
It's like saying "just buy a 1000€ GPU and the game will run fine". Bro, I have RX 5700 XT, how am I supposed to turn on fluid motion...
I do hope they'll add FSR but until then I've got good results using AMDs Super Resolution feature in the Adrenaline Software. For those not familiar: you create a custom perfomance setting for the game directly in the Adrenaline Software (make sure you use the latest driver version). Turn on Radeon Super Resolution and set sharpness to 100 (my preference as the game's visuals are pretty soft). In the game's settings use the XeSS Upscaler and set it to Anti-Aliasing (so no render reduction). Then reduce the game's screen resolution. I've got a 4k monitor so I set the game's resolution to 2560x1440 which equals FSR's "quality" setting. AMD's Super Resolution feature will then use FSR to upscale to your monitor's native resolution. This way I get almost stable 60 FPS with much better quality than with XeSS which I have to turn down to "medium" to get 60 FPS. In combination with frame generation (also possible via Adrenaline) I hit well above 100 FPS. Give it a try and let me know how it works for you.

You can try Lossless Scaling app for upscaling and frame generation. Just remember that FG is heavy and take away some of your real frames before doubling it.
Also use TSR over XESS for better results.

I was thinking about this lossless app, but I am not sure if I want to spend 7€ for something just to use in this game, I have never had the need to use it, all the games had FSR available.

I know that some frame generations in games are not good at all, there are basically games that are unplayable with FG enabled because it delays your inputs by a lot, but when the game is well optimized, FG should be alright in this regard.

Luckily, it's not really that big of a problem to not have stable 60+ fps in a game like this one because it's turn based and there isn't that much action going on lol.

Has anyone been able to get Optiscaler working with this game? I get a crash on launch every time with the latest nightly. Game desperately needs FG even with my 4080.

Just buy 5090, problem solved.
