Clarify the Plot, Please.

I don't really understand the premise. If she writes 33 and wipes out everyone who is 33, and I'm 32. Next year I turn 33, she writes 32, I'm not 32, so I don't get disappeared, so how is humanity on the way to extinction?

The culling being caused by the Paintress can't be avoided. Everyone at the age she writes and older disappears into smoke once a year when she awakens. So even if you manage to miss the 33 mark, when 32 rolls around you're still gone.

Once a year, the Paintress wakes and paints upon her monolith. Paints her cursed number. And everyone of that age and older turns to smoke and fades away.

I’m glad somebody asked this same question. I came here specifically to ask it and, as the OP points out, the store page doesn’t say “or older”.

the store page doesn't need to say or older. its just a story summary to see if you are interested. if you want the minutia of how the story works you should buy the game or look into it deeper than the sales pitch summary.

You joke but she apparently started at 100. Couldn't tell you why but she did. So the citizens of Luminare (sp?) have been trying to end her for neigh on 60 years now. That's friggin' depressing.

I'm literally asking for two words to clarify an otherwise glaring inconsistency. I'm not asking for a 12 page dissertation.
