Vive la France!
its probably because France is Unified and not participating in any Culture wars that we get a game that is just good.
The only thing that is JRPG-ish that funnily no WRPG has ever done is the flashy combat animations.
theres only two on this forum, because this game wasn't really hyped or advertised, and its from a smaller company.
their mostly only on AAA game titles complaining.
I feel like "JRPG" means a style of game, more than an actual Japanese RPG.
Dark Souls is a Japanese RPG, but almost nobody calls it a JRPG.
JRPGs are, counter-intuitively, from all over the place and tend to be united more by methods of world exploration, story-telling, party and item functionality and combat mechanics.
