Is it really in Oblivion remake?
Yes, the game was extremely wishlisted. It should be fine for a small studio. But its true that the release of Oblivion is unfortunate.
Yes they removed male and female in character creation, also removed the gender affecting the stats.
Oblivion was kind of the decline of Bethesda anyway, and right behind Skyrim in my 'worst Elder Scrolls' games personally.
If they had remade Daggerfall/Morrowind on the other hand then I would agree with you, and probably have Expedition 33 on the backburner while I binge them since they were my actual favourites..
Oblivion though..? Eh.. I don't know many people who has this as one of their all time greats.
If I am curious I suppose I'll just check it out on Gamepass one day.. not anytime soon while we have all these current JRPG's coming out though.
