From my brief time in Metaphor and after watching ChristopherOdd play the preview I'd say the gameplay is similar. IIRC there were no Quick Time Events other than gaining the first strike. It's possible I didn't get to see that tho as I ended up refunding the game. The setting in Metaphor felt more oriental and two fights in you get the ability to turn into an avatar to fight.

That, in combination with the very confusing inventory system made me decide to get a refund.

The story seemed promising though.

There's nothing oriental about the setting of Metaphor.

The only similarity here is that they are both turn based RPGs.
Humor me, what setting is it in your opinion?

Metaphor is very obviously European. Practically Spanish/French style European. Not even subtle.

Pick up a history book or try traveling outside of the USA for once.
