PR folks have run out of spin...
I don't care HOW you say it, turn-based w/ real-time isn't new or innovative. You literally can't use those words and make them mean something "new" for any reason. There's simply too many games JRPG, or otherwise, that have done it already, which makes me wonder - is there actually anything innovative in this game?

I'm confused why it matters. Let's assume nothing is truly "innovative" in this game, but it's mix-and-matched in a cool way and polished to a mirror shine. Are you upset that nothing is "new" or "innovative" if the game takes older concepts, combines them, and does them super well?
I could explain, but something tells me you still wouldn't understand it, so I'll just simplify it down to this - I'm tired of the hype-train PR folks that exclusively use hyperbole to make a sale. For the same reason, I no longer watch OTA TV because of the ads that annoy me to no end. Just tell me what the game has - no need to exaggerate it.

I think I'm getting to that old guy, "Get off my grass," phase of life where things like this just rub me the wrong way lol.

Not sure if that was an insult against me or self-deprecation against yourself, but alrighty.

*shrugs* Unfortunately, I don't think advertising is ever gonna become more honest than the hyperbole-infused nonsense they spew everywhere lol. Just have to discern what you can through the smoke.

For what it's worth, nothing I've seen or heard suggests Clair Obscur will be anything less than "quite good". I've talked to a couple people in the review-business, and they've said this is getting like 8/10s at a minimum haha. Unless this is some massive conspiracy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, my hype-train continues to roll down the tracks.
Everything iterates.
has over 1,500 games... yet hops on here for a low quality bait moment. Bored much?

Not bait - haven't you ever just wanted to share a viewpoint - like you just did...or was that your attempt at bait...

Sharing a viewpoint rarely involves being overly emotional.

"...overly emotional," must have a new meaning these days lol - this is about as much hyperbole as the statements in their store page.

plenty of hyperbole and emotion in this OP. you want us to be your echo chamber or something?
So, where's the exaggeration (hyperbole) - I view those statements as facts, not exaggerations, which was sort of the point of the entire post, but I guess that went over your head...

how was it said that it implied that it was something more than a turn based game?

It's a good thing you don't have to be innovative to make a good game.
True, and just to be clear, I am not talking about the game in any way, just the promotional statements. The game looks like it will probably be very beautiful with an interesting story.
Just making something is already innovative. Yes its nice to see something new but don't push it anymore than that.
