It's just part of the marketing schedule. The closer to release, the more attraction you can get on day one.
Also it can also be to avoid spoilers as much as possible because it's a story-heavy game.

But lets be honest, you already know if you want the game or not, atleast from a gameplay perspective.. the reviews will merely be for performance issues.
I predict this game will be a solid 9/10 for many. A 7 or 8 for those that the story didn't really click for. The game just does so many things right. This game is also just a giant middle finger to basically every triple A developer since these guys made this game with like 30 people lmao.
