You can't steal a crypted game that unlocks on the release date, preload is crypted.
This game is only 41.317 GB
If you unpack it, download the patch, then apply patch, it will take all from 15-90mins depending on your PC hardware and connection (with the given size of file)
Lets say you are part of the minority in the western world with lower speeds (ie. you live rural, can´t afford or are not old enough to choose your internet) then avarage would still be around 200+ mbit/s in most cases
If you had 200mbit, it would take 27 minuttes to download this game.
Lets say you have 500mbit (that is very common for elderly and people in rural places) then it would be 13 mins to download and with 800mbit it would take 6 mins.
For the avarage person, the unpacking might be slower than just downloading the game and in cases where it is people with slower connections, then the difference might be so little, that it makes no sense to really debate it.
I fully understand why some want it and we do have people with 100mbit connections, albeit very few have that in my country, like they would almost need to live on a small island.. the vast majority have atleast 1000/1000 mbit (then we have people without fiber, that don´t have as high upload, but that does not change our example above)
If you needed this game to take "hours" to download, you would basically be running a 90´s style ADSL connection.
The point I am trying to put across, is that you will not see much of a difference on download vs preload in this case, unless its severe cases.. I again fully understand why many people prefer perload, then its "out of the way" and "ready" etc.
But with a file size this low, it should not really be much of a issue for most.
Holy christ dude could you come across as any more condescending or arrogant?
Clearly you live in a privileged capital city of a country that has the infrastructure for your internet. Places like the above commenters or here in Australia do *not*
Get off your high horse and listen to the words people are telling you when I say unpacking takes mere minutes compared to a download that can take hours/overnight.
For Steam, it's usually 48 hours or less so we have a while to wait. Xbox is typically a week out, and PS4/5 varies.
