Is the original audio French or English?
i know the game is french but most media and trailers are marketing the game with english audio

my question is: Was the original audio, as in the first one to be recorded and lip synced english or french?

Cuz if the og is French and the English cast had to dub over the French one and the lips are synced to the French audio, i'll probably play this game with French audio.

Just like i played Final Fantasy 16 in English cuz it was the original language for the audio and i played 99% of FF games with the voice in Japanese (except 12)

I'm guessing French is the original and English is the dub but I haven't seen anything confirming this. So far the English lip-synching has been decent from what I've seen, although certain lines look a bit odd sometimes (mainly Lune for some reason, she gets really toothy saying certain words lmao). So yeah it has English lip-syching, but it's a bit hit or miss

It has been confirmed the original audio for the game is English and French is the dub.

RPG Site: Voice languages. It has French and English?

Francois Meurisse: Yeah.

RPG Site: No Japanese?

Francois Meurisse: No. Also, the lip sync is based on the English audio.

RPG Site: I think it's cool that you were able to have both English and French voices. I've played some French RPGs that only include English audio. Even games like Steelrising, an RPG set in France and developed by a French studio, didn't have a French language option. Even coming from a French developer, that's not always given. So I think it's cool you were able to do that.

Francois Meurisse: Yeah, it was important for us to include French dubbing, given the setting of the game and the origin of the studio.

Thanks for that info. I'm gonna play in English then.

they're not gonna spend the money on getting someone like Charlie Cox (MCU's Daredevil) to just do a dub lol
Dunno, don't care. I go for the English dub unless it sucks, and most of the time it doesn't.

Interesting. I was watching CohhCarnage's VOD of him playing through the early preview the other day and the lip syncing seemed strangely off/out of sync with the english voices. Hopefully it's just an issue with the preview build.

They're not the actors who gave their bodies to the characters, so they're dubbing them.
(by the way, Maxence Carzola - who's the man behind Gustave - voices Esquie in both languages.

The facial capture for Gustave will definitely have been done by Charlie Cox. English is the official language for the game and they're not going to have one guy do the facial capture and then try and have another guy dub it lol that's a huge waste of time and money.

100% using facial capture from Charlie Cox. Gustave makes the exact same expressions and has the exact same mannerisms as Charlie

so the sync and recording were english first, but was the script french or english first? that's more important to me.
