I don’t understand why it’s contradictory. Maybe I'm off track

"Is it fun until I finish the story?" That’s the point and the concern of all games. It's a flaw if the game fails to take us to the end of its story. It's something we can sense fairly early, or not, by the way. And then, it's up to each person's feeling.Classic. But it's to highlight that the few hours were very enjoyable to play for the majority of the testers. Let's wait and see what happens next.

Individually, each preview does not contradict itself. If we consider my point above. Some previews have simply taken elements of the game as positives, while others have considered them as 'flaws'. And others have reservations about certain aspects.

Yep, agree, public demos are very usefull, for both I guess, players and developpers.

What did that one say?

French preview :

Bad points according to him :

-Technically disappointing (some visual bugs, sloppy texture, frame rate)
-Linear Exploration
-Dialogue not deep enough
-Fear of redundancy in exploration and enemies
-Fear that the fighting is too redundant

Good points according to him :

-Fight mecanics
-Design
-Musique

Link : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ld67JTQ5Xgs&t=857s

All the other previews I've seen or read (French or English) are good or very good. Even if everyone says it was only a few hours (hours of fun), it's promising, but let's wait for the full game and see if it will stay fun until the end :

The positive points that I was able to note on all the previews (mainly French) :

-Music
-Design and Graphics, the biomes, atmosphere
-The map looks quite big
-Fight mecanics and dodge system (dynamic aspects)
-Teambuilding, synergy of skills
-The linear aspect to some extent (as opposed to the abundance of open worlds and the ambition of the game itself)
-Overworld and camping

Fears :

-Precisely, that it is too linear (exploration)
-Fun, but will it remain interesting until the end ? (story, exploration, overworld, gameplay loops)

Negative points :

-Technically (some visual bugs, sloppy texture, blurry, frame rate)
-Lip sync
-Interface could be improved (even if it remains clear and beautiful)
-Characters too slow in the overworld

It's a build and not necessarily the final product (I'm talking mainly about the technical aspect which can, could, could be refined)
So most of the important features are good? That's great. The only thing I'm worried about is performance

I don't think we need to worry about it being too linear since all we have seen is the 3 hours-ish of gameplay after the prologue and before all of the main cast is united. With what we have seen from the trailers and demo is that it will most likely be linear levels/dungeons in a massive open world-map which is something I personally wont mind at all.

and I think that not everything was there in the areas that we saw

I just saw the gamestar review and it looks like a modern take of the classic Final Fantasy formula, which is great.

i hope these are not fake rewievs

It's a review from a youtuber who likes to get views by giving his viewers the contrary of what the rest of the world says.

it’s funny that this youtuber says the dialogues are not deep enough , while all the other youtubers are ecstatic on the dialogues

and the dialogues are even very well done seen the cinematics , we have the impression that it is a real human discussion

I don't know him enough indeed.
But since he's only one of the 2 previews I found that are negative against hundreds positive ones, I can't take him seriously.

His opinion on video games is the lowest you can get. He doesn't even know what is a JRPG world map. Yet is given access to preview this kind of game.
Just release the demo publicly. No better reviewer than yourself.

A lot of the arguments you are posing come from a place of, "What if it's fun until it's not?" which is a fine point to be made, but not trustworthy from a review standpoint.

You can not like aspects of a game and still enjoy it as a whole. Rarely will anything be perfect. However, making contradicting statements about the same subject in a review will not give me a load of confidence in that opinion.

Off subject; I am a fan of developer curated public demos as it allows an individual to make up their own mind in the limited game-play experience if they will enjoy the core loop.

Exactly. You cannot go into a game expecting it to only be fun for so long as you've already subconsciously set your expectations. It's such a weird way of experiencing a longform medium.

All the previewers i watched , which was many, all loved the game and were disappointed that the demo ended after 3-4 hrs. they all wanted to play more. so I am extremely hyped to play this after what i have seen and heard. I hope they let us play the demo also as that would really help those who are unsure decide whether they like it or not. I personally love everything I have seen and cannot wait to play the game.
