Chromatic Jar Resistance?

This thing is weak to Ice and Lightning.
I've got Maelle equipped with a non-elemental weapon... but he says "Resistant"??

I've got Verso equipped with a Cruleram.... It's an ICE weapon.... but he says "Resistant"?!

But I hit him with ice magic, and he's weak.
What the actual hell gives?

Physical damage is an 'elemental' damage type that some enemies can resist

Were you using a Verso skill that explicitly deals physical damage regardless of the weapon damage type?

Physical is an element? Jfc what a load of nonsense...

And i think I only had one skill on him that was a specific element (light) and I hadn't used that. Shouldn't hitting an enemy with a weak element and a resistant element just cancel each other out?

In this game, each character has skills that will say "uses weapon's element"...otherwise, it usually will say "low/med/high/veryhigh/extreme X damage"...so if you use Verso's Ice weapon with a skill that says "uses weapon's element" then it should work and get the result you want
