Not sure who you mean by "soldier ladies", but try to go by audio cues. They are pretty useful.
Solider ladies give us really tough opposition at this point, I don't think thats a bad idea to challenge the player with difficulty increase. If you speedrun the mainstory and you still have difficultises to win, maybe you should explore a bit to XP and loot some weapons/pictos to be more efficient on them
I meant the main enemy type in Old Lumiere. Idk what enemies are named aside from Nevrons. They're the feminine armored knight looking sword enemies there.
Im sufficiently leveled and I've explored most areas, even some higher than my level. It's the parry timing on that enemy that's a nightmare.
