Act 3 - Basically all Post-Game?
So I got to Act 3 and was excited to explore the new areas unlocked and find my few remaining journal entries/Monoco skills. However every single new enemy, boss, area is way WAY more difficult than anything up to now in the game. Moves that could delete 1/4 of a boss' health bar at the end of Act 2 barely scratch anything.

I've come to the conclusion that everything in Act 3 that isn't the final area is actually supposed to be postgame content that requires grinding and min/maxing to challenge rather than being somewhat harder but still beatable content from Acts 1 and 2. Is that the general vibe others were getting? I'm not mad about the difficulty increase, I just wish there was something to clearly communicate that it was all postgame to be tackled later.

am also curious where I should start with this act 3, ideally, and what level I should be, should I go straight for the last area or ?

Do the relationship quests first and generally north to south. Also don't take too long to do Lumiere or you will be overleveled.

Go to camp and talk with everyone that will set you up for a decent start.
As for OP it kinda comes down to your build, if you went with a tanky HP build you might run into more trouble compared to someone that went full dmg and hits for half a mil per turn.

Do the party member quests, then the final dungeon, otherwise you will be too overleveled for the final boss. The order of areas is something like:
- The Reacher (Maelle's quest)
- Lumiere
- Frozen Hearts
- Flying Manor
- Endless Tower
- Renoir's Drafts

killing the swimming enemy will have the single biggest impact on your party's strength. if you can't kill him now then the advice everyone in this thread is giving is good

I stacked agility and luck mostly. I did put points into HP and Defense as needed because I"m not always the best at parrying, but they weren't focussed.

I'll try this rule of thumb, it was the opposite order in which I was travelling, so maybe that will help, but will definitely beat hte game first

It's hard to find a starting point in Act 3's content since there's no concrete way to figure out what you should be tackling first.
Go beat Strogg first and get the Cheater picto that allows you to move twice per character. It would make your life a lot easier.

*Edit Sprong I mean.

i just went around and kill what i could as i found it, and if a i didn't even scratch the health bar i just put it on the list.

Does something negative happen if you kill the final boss too quickly? Or is it just boring?

I actually killed Sprong even before the Axons simply because I got a bee in my bonnet about how he was looking at me. Cheater was far too expensive to consider putting on my team until I found Blanche though

What he said.

The Reacher is very doable at the level you are probably at at the beginning of Act 3. Do it first. You might also try the early levels of the Endless Tower. Frozen Hearts isn't too bad either.

Most everything else is brutally difficult.

Sprong isn't really all that hard, it just takes a long time to kill him. It's worth it though. The Cheater Picto is absurdly good.
