So this is what a story game is like when every line spoken isnt trying to be a oneliner.
Like a breath of fresh air...

Usually Steam discussion threads are a cesspool, but this is the rare exception. Probably one of the best one-sentence reviews of a game I've ever seen, if I'm being honest.

And im being sincere. Im only a few hours in, but the 3 people ive met so far, Gustave, Lune and Maelle feels real.
Like actual people stuck in a crappy situation. The dialogue is realistic, adults talking to each other like adults.

If we look at something like God of war for an example, and dont take this the wrong way, GOW is awesome.
But that really is just, one liner after one liner, its quite rare for an actual conversation to take place that isn't threats or lessons.
So many games have had dialogue like that for years that i sorta half forgot what normal speech was like.
It felt nice.

Hopefully more studios would bring back turn base games. Final Fantasy whine that it was impossible to do a game like this with realistic graphics by today. Sandfall games proved then wrong.

I always found the notion that "turn based games are dying" ridiculous.
Just look at the last few years.
BG3
Metaphor refantazio.
Octopath.
Rogue trader
Age of wonders
And now Clair obscure.

Just to name a few.
Its a well alive and played genre.

Indeed, turn-based games are doing great. They were closer to "dying" back in the PS3/360 era honestly.

I guess I should have been more specific but I thought naming Final Fantasy would be obvious about what I meant. No I'm talking about classical turn base game with the soul of a jrpg. Only one on that list is Metaphor and Octopath. We're lucky the former and clair was released this close together. I might get to play a turn base game with quality like this in years again.
