Report a translation problem
Like actual people stuck in a crappy situation. The dialogue is realistic, adults talking to each other like adults.
If we look at something like God of war for an example, and dont take this the wrong way, GOW is awesome.
But that really is just, one liner after one liner, its quite rare for an actual conversation to take place that isn't threats or lessons.
So many games have had dialogue like that for years that i sorta half forgot what normal speech was like.
It felt nice.
Just look at the last few years.

Metaphor refantazio.
Octopath.
Rogue trader
Age of wonders
And now Clair obscure.
Just to name a few.
Its a well alive and played genre.
