Can we all agree that at the end of Act 2
Maelle Dies? She doesn't even act the same afterwards. She's the gaslighting little witch Alicia.

I call her Malicia and I don't like it when she is on screen. Her side quest she is Fake Renoir levels of smug and Verso levels of selfish.
In a fashion ya, It doesn't show immediately but she absolutely goes GOT finale Denaris after this. (At times)

She regained 16 years of memories (So effectively 32 years mentally now) Engaged sociopathy

Every character in the game was written to have light and dark side. Many choices they make have light and dark side. There is no character who is just white or just black. Maybe except of Verso's paintings.

It's either that or they had less time to write Act 3.

Yeah she pretty much embraced her godhood at that point.

It is very symbolic that the game with one of the main theme about grief and denial to spawn discussion about grief and denial about what is happening in the said game.

And just to be upfront, about this I don't judge you or anyone who don't like story as it goes. Like for me the Mass Effect 3 never happened and Sheppard died on suicide mission in the end of Mass Effect 2.

What is the Art if not a static ability to give people feelings that they never thought they need to discover?
Yeah, the "real" Maelle died when she regained Alicia's memories. I don't think Maelle would be a generous god like she hopes, the world in her ending just turns into her plaything without her caring as much about the painted human's feelings... She lost me when, during her last relationship conversation Verso can admit to letting Gustave die and Maelle just shrugs and says "thanks for the honesty". The real Maelle would have been furious and felt betrayed, even if she forgives Verso later

That's just a problem on your end. You obviously aren't seeing and recognizing the dimensions.

It's become less about Maelle wanting to GENUINELY take revenge / save Lumiere and more about Alicia wanting to use this as an excuse of playing around in the painted world because she's a burn victim outside.
It's pretty horrible body snatcher scenario and a very disingenuous 'maelle' ending.
