Then in "Clair Obscur 3", we get the big epic team-up of the Painters and the Composers to take on the evil Writers guild

Well, took them 6 years to make this game so we have till 2031/32 or so till the next game.
Maybe longer if they expand the scope. I worry about the plot then.

After watching the video detailing their story, it sounded like they really only needed 3-4 years to MAKE the game. All the other time was spent fiddling around with demos, funding, finding people to work for them. The next expansion/sequel should go much faster.

That's what I'd love to see Sandfall do, they've teased a world where people can have magical powers of creation, we know of the painters and see their abilities first hand. We're told about the writers too, even if we never see them beyond a couple of mentions.

A story to broaden our view into this world would be great. I don't mind waiting another 6+ years for it, art takes time.

Clair Obscur is a painting style so the likelihood of it still being called that is low, unless we go into another canvas.
I'd like to see a story with the worlds created by writers though.

The painters live in a world that turns out to be a video game. When the game devs move to turn off the computer, the painters try to prevent it but fail as the devs are just too powerful. Oh well, for those who come after (the devs getting their paycheck), the end.

Part 2 will be called Lucem ac Tenebras, which is light and dark in latin, the baddie will be Mahler and Stravinsky, they'll be brothers. And you'll have to find ways out of the piano sheet to fight the developers. You're welcome.
