How many Chroma to upgrade weapon to max level?

Finally, I can upgrade the weapon. Kind of curious just how many I need to level max the weapon. Anyone know the metrics for them?

Someone else did the math and said 35. This is a mix of different Chroma catalysts though

Thing about chromas is that there are plenty around, with the exception of the Perfect Chroma that you will need to upgrade to level 33.
As long as you are not pouring them on every single weapon you come across, you should be fine.
I'm not entirely sure, but I think they came as
1 - 2 - 3 chroma until level 3
1 - 1 - 2 - 2 - 3 - 3 polished chroma to level 9
1 - 1 - 1 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 3 -3 - 3 - resplendent to level 19,
same increasing pattern grandiose to level 19
And then a single perfect chroma catalyst to 33.

Don't take this for sure, I wrote it up from memory. But the pattern is something like this.

The numbers do get up to 4 or 5 on some of the later catalysts. I did some inventory browsing, here's each weapon level and the cost to reach the next, cost stays til the next level mentioned. I didn't have any weapons left below Lv3 but I don't think basic Catalysts will be the ones giving you trouble.

Though getting drops from higher level enemies will skip 10-20 levels in some cases so maybe check before you spend.
