Sure is, and all the "pro gamers" are gonna flock in and somehow explain that its different, its YOUR fault, git gud etc etc.
Truth is, most people are just annoyed by the over all *broken* like timing mechanic that kinda dulls the over all experience of the game itself.
Great game, weird story, beautiful graphics....dull gameplay in general
Also, parries matter more and less at different points in the game from what I've seen, if you're wondering.
But also, if you just don't like the game, ask for a refund if you can still, that's perfectly fine too!
I am no "pro gamer" but things did get easier the more I played. I'm not great at souls-like games, but when you learn a pattern and start to land some of the counters, it feels amazing. One thing that really helped me is to wait until the swings start coming. The nevrons will load their swings above their head or to their sides and when the hit starts coming forward, that's when you cancel. They mix this up a little further down the road, but it's doable.
I was banging my head against an optional boss for about 40 minutes before I finally got his pattern down and managed to take him out without being hit. It's not at all impressive when you look at how many times I died to him, but man did it feel great when I finally landed the last counter after parrying and jumping a six-hit combo.
Huh.
Do you have a disability that prevents you from tapping a button when the bad man swings? Have you played an action game before? Not trying to be mean, genuinely curious.
There's some people that have done expert no parry/dodge but it seems they need some sweaty optimizations
You can play it like a classic JRPG on story mode, no dodge/parry needed.
xD but from an objective standpoint it's NOT broken at all, it works exactly as it should.
You need to git gud, or play on story mode.
Someone has already proven that the game is beatable without any dodge or counter.
Besides that, nothing is broken here. It´s indeed "git gud". Once you got it, you´re able to beat even higher enemies than your stats would actually allow you to do.
Dunno why poeple can´t even press a button somewhat in time these days...
Yeah it's the BG3 mommy, she wanted to try this mainly because of Jennifer English, but ended up really enjoying the game.
