is this game worth getting if i disliked the turn based combat in bg3?
the only turn based combat game i played was BG3 and i would just fall asleep from boredom while playing, so this is my concern with this game but i watched gameplay footage and combat seems more interactive with timing stuff so is it different/better?

Maybe.
Never felt bored in this, the QTE and dodge parry are going to keep you up. Not overly hard unless you're missing a finger or something, just enough to keep you energized.

Also, the OST is nearly impossible to doze off too, it's... something else.

BG3 is a CRPG ... like Pathfinder or Pillars of Eternity. This is closer to a JRPG like Final Fantasy. Both genres have "turn based combat" but they are nothing alike really.

In expert difficulty you have to either dodge or parry and combined with the QTE attacks it doesn't really feel like a turn based game.

It plays nothing like BG3. BG3's combat was more like Divinity Original Sin, and it had elements of Hitman-like immersive sim style gameplay that rewarded you for thinking outside of the box. BG3 is good, but that's more of a Crpg (computer rpg).
Expedition 33 basically plays like a Jrpg but it's one of the only ones I know of that rewards player-skill & reflexes.. It's like a really fast version of Shadowhearts Covenant or Legend of Dragoon. The parrying in this game is not gimmick, you'll die a few times until you get the timing right.

The two games are nowhere near similar.

So it really depends on what kind of games you like. You've seen the footage, so yeah combat is very interactive. Me personally, I find it very fun, and I'm not even an action game fan.
BG 3 isnt like this at all.

Well, this game made me forget other games exist for a while. So yes. Get it.
theres a mod for active combat on bg3 that might keep you up lol if you go back to that

its completely different from bg3... bg3 is a crpg, which tend to feel a lil slower imo.

this is a jrpg. plus, its got action elements in combat, basically QTEs.
