Why Can't I Use The Pictos I Pick Up as Lumina?

I just picked up Energizing Start 1, but its not on my Luminas list. How do I get it to appear there?

You need to win 4 fights with a character equipped with it in the active party and alive at the end of the fight

if you haven't' learned the pictos by fighting with it equipped for 4 turns then it won't be in the list unless you have it equipped.

If you look at the border around your picto, you'll see whether you mastered it or not. Then it's a matter of if you have the lumina points or not to equip it

You can use a character that you don't really need that much damage from to just keep using new pictos you find for 4 fights to turn them all into lumina. It'll pop up on the screen after the fight telling you the 4th is done and it's ready.
