Which language to play this in?!
Both French and English voice-work sounds fantastic!

Given that the game take place in France and the french atmosphere of the game, for me, you are supposed to play in french. But no problem for people to play in english if they have problems with subtitles

English for me. French VAs sound good, but the English ones feel better.

Yeah, as a French, there's no way I play that game in French, the English cast is simply too good to pass on.

en tant que francais je ne peut pas jouer en anglais le casting en VF est bcp trop qualitatif même meilleur que celui anglais

I agree.

- Jennifer English - Shadowheart from Baldurs Gate III! or Latenna in Elden Ring.
- Shala Nyx - Deianeira from Expeditions Rome + side characters in BG III and CP 2077
- Ben Starr - Clive Rosfield in Final Fantasy XVI
- Charlie Cox - Daredevil, also Tristan in great fantasy movie Stardust
- Andy Serkis

You probably just don't have the English proficiency necessary to appreciate how good the English cast is. It's okay, the VF version is also made for that kind of cases after all.

Et toi tu n'as pas la décence de reconnaître que le casting français est tout autant excellent, ça préfère cracher sur nos acteurs...Un peu de dignité !

i think playing in french would bring the game more immersion for some but unless its forced into a different language i use English as its my native language. Not that i wont play games that force you to listen in another language of course.

La endophobie est un mal qui ravage l’Europe.
Félicitations pour le doublage du jeu en français.
I always go with language of setting
Wukong-chinese
Sekiro-japanese
Stalker-ukrainian
Witcher-polish
I simply think english voice actors take away too much of industry and have basically monopoly on most games and va from other countries dont even have chance to compete in games from thier homecountries.
Just recently was about to buy metrovidania about samurai but strangley there was only english dub.
Studio when asked sadly replied thier budget was tight so they had to choose 1 and went with english.

Though I tend to prefer English voice work and I do feel a lot of English VAs are struggling for a variety of reasons, I do appreciate wanting to shine a spotlight on the VAs elsewhere.
English. It's my native language, therefore it'll be massively more immersive. Needing to read subtitles takes away a ton from the game, so much is missed when reading subtitles.

^ Reading subtitles be it a game, movie or show means you will probably be watching it a second time to see what parts of the conversation you missed. In a game thats close to 40 hours long it is something i dont want since i cant just go back to see what i missed in a game that probably has predetermined save spots.

For me its opposite. I don't think they struggle and even hate when they act like their work is one only true work while there is native version with VA that was basically in mind when game was made. Especially amanda winn lee (ppl wanted rereleased persona 4 with original VA instead of only English and she was antagonising people and reveling that they will have to listen her voice in game.

French Canadian here. My biggest pet peeve regarding voice casting is when a character with a specific nationality is voiced by an actor of another nationality who just can't do the accent.

- Charlie Cox, while a very good actor, cannot for the life of him sell me a good "Putain de merde"
- Robert Patinson playing a French King in the movie The King (2019) felt super off.
- Frenchie in The Boys just massacred all of his "mon coeur" His accent was awful. Good actor, wrong casting.

I will be playing this game in french most likely, unless the french VA is terrible.
