Don't Nod is in shambles.
Don't Nod, the studio behind Life is Strange, has seen a catastrophic drop in value — losing around 95% of it in recent years. A big part of this massive decline seems to be tied to the studio’s shift towards making games that heavily cater to "woke" ideology. Instead of focusing on creating fun, immersive experiences, they’ve become more interested in pushing a political agenda that feels out of place for many gamers.

It’s one thing to have social commentary in games, but it’s another to turn your entire creative process into a political soapbox. Don’t Nod has increasingly focused on hammering in messages about identity politics, social justice, and activism, and it’s clear that a lot of their fanbase is just not interested in that. People play games to escape reality, not to be lectured on the latest cultural buzzwords. The result? A huge alienation of fans who feel like they’re being forced to embrace ideologies that are more about ticking boxes than telling a good story.

What makes it worse is that the studio doesn't just weave these messages into their games — they’re blatantly shoved in your face. The emphasis isn’t on creating great gameplay or compelling narratives; it’s about making sure they’re checking all the “woke” boxes, even if it means sacrificing quality or alienating a large chunk of their audience. And it’s no surprise this hasn’t worked out. Gamers are fed up with being preached to. Many feel like studios like Don’t Nod are less interested in making art and more interested in virtue-signaling.

Ultimately, Don’t Nod’s downfall is a textbook example of what happens when a creative studio prioritizes ideological conformity over the actual craft of game design. When your focus shifts from making great games to pushing a political agenda, you can kiss your fanbase — and your profits — goodbye. The lesson here? People don’t play games to be indoctrinated. They want to have fun, and when you forget that, you might just lose everything.

See generalisation. I have never called this game woke, I have never called it bad, all I did was point out it flopped and that is all and gave my reason as to why I think that. I loved BG3 and most "anti-woke" people disliked that and call it woke but I do not believe it was because what was implemented did not damaged the overall experience. I only consider a game "woke" if the message, ideology or personal agenda gets implemented in a way that causes the overall experience to suffer due to its insertion so there are many games I personally do not consider "woke" that many others do.

so

is Lost Records considered 'woke'? You played it, right?
I have no idea, never called it woke and I did not look into it enough to form that opinion.

Yet another person with numbers and facts on hand without citation or links.

Let me guess, you're also here from the Youtube brigade? Come on in and join the rest of the trolls that we're laughing and rolling our eyes at. :lunar2019crylaughingpig:

It's almost the same script also, I swear it's almost like y'all are just bots at this point. Man...can't you atleast come up with something unique or interesting to say instead of regurgitating the same bullet points that the rest of your buddies already did.

Boooooring. :steamthumbsdown:

there you go --> https://markets.ft.com/data/equities/tearsheet/summary?s=ALDNE:PAR

That link provides some financial information, but it doesn't provide the *reasons* for Dontnod's financial state. I enjoyed LR: B&R and also some of the Life Is Strange games and so I come at this not knowing anything but the fact that I enjoyed those games. Can you provide some reputable sources that *directly* support your claim that Dontnod is suffering financially due to 'the wokeness of their games', so to speak, and not for other reasons?

I might, however, be giving you too much credibility; you were triggered by the existence of a video game main character who is slightly heavier than normal.

this has estimated steam sales I usually go off the mid number so 53.8K units

and to see that their stock dropped by nearly 80% you can just look up don't nod's stock on google, its public.

That is about all the financial info I have.
