Extremely laggy game
So I bought this game a some days ago and played for a bit, everything was fine and after a two day break went to play again and the game is extremely laggy. I can see I'm not the only one with this issue.

I'm not very technical, so not sure what more I can do; I've lowered the quality of effects etc, I've updated my GUI (I have AMD Ryzen 7 5700U with Radeon Graphics, Windows 11), chekced the integrity of my game files etc, but it's still unplayable.

Does anyone have any further tips on how to make it work please?

Im not sure how to fix this but ive just been tweaking with the in-game video settings and lowering the quality to fix the lag. Im hoping its just a choppy section of the game but we'll see. Lmk if you found something that worked and still kept the quality good.

EDIT: I just went into the settings and just reset all the settings and video settings. Its running a lot smoother now so try that maybe!

Have experienced this myself and i had to stop playing it because the stuttering and lag at that certain area in the game was way to laggy for me to stream or play

Since you're not very technical:

1. Saying Windows 11 alone doesn't give any useful information to someone trying to help.

Right now we are on Windows 11 Education 24H2, Build 26100.3194, Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.48.0 (as an example).

The most important parts are the version (W11 24H2) and the build.

2. Saying AMD Ryzen 7 5700U with Radeon graphics is just as helpful as saying W11.

Is this a laptop or a desktop? I assume laptop because of the 5700U.

What video card are you using? I assume without further information that you are using IGP ("on-chip" integrated graphics).

If it is IGP (which in this case would be an RX Vega 8), you should probably return the game if you still can.

On the Game Store page, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, 4GB is a minimum recommended video card.

Your video card is about 30-50% slower, and it doesn't have dedicated VRAM, only shared, which is very slow compared to dedicated.

Well, the thing is that even with all settings on lowest, with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, 4GB this game is basically unplayable.

Locked at 30 FPS, the game ran at 16-20 FPS most of the time. Locked at 30 FPS means that for a good "gaming experience" the frametimes should be constantly at 33.3 ms, but most of the time the frametimes were 50 - 100 ms, very often 120 - 250 ms, and often over 300 ms. Occasionally even in the range of 400 - 600 ms.

What does this mean? Well, if the game was running at 30 fps, 33.3 ms, the game would feel smooth, but at 30 fps, 66.6 ms, the game would feel choppy. A constant 66.6 frametime is jut a wishful thinking with the 1050 Ti ... Frametime basicall tells you how many frames are dropped.

In my opinion, if you want to enjoy playing this game, the minimum recommended video card should be at least an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti or 3070 (DESKTOP, NOT laptop!!), and at least 8 GB of VRAM. It may be playable with less, but not enjoyable.

I hope this helps you better understand the issues you are having with a game.
