I was so curious about the ending of Swan walking to the abyss, will there ever be a story about this or did DONT NOD only want to leave it as a secret??

People claim that they want to make a sort of franchise out of this game, but I am not too enthusiastic considering the sales, state of the industry and other factors. They should have made a complete, isolated and final version of the game without cliffhangers rather than thinking/hoping that it Tape 1 & 2 will be a huge hit that can finance and warrant Tape 3/DLC/Sequels

I think people take way too narrow view when they think this sequel idea. I would expect more something like Alan Wake - Quantum Break - Control kind of sequel thing. All those games happen in the same universe and there is some cross references but other than that they are all separate stories with their own characters and story. (Well Control has Alan Wake DLC but that's kind of extra thing).

What comes to the open end that's something that isn't uncommon in this sort of games. It's not even uncommon in other media that has supernatural genre.
