What a glorious failure
Nothing warms my heart more than seeing ''games'' like this flop harder than Gorlock the Destroyer. Go woke, go broke.

I don't judge a game by how well it sold, but by how good it is. This game has great storytelling, great visuals, it maintains the suspense from start to finish, making you eager to know what happens next. That's a good story-driven game for me and a few other people. I had a lot of fun with the first episode and will have a lot of fun with the second episode. Sales numbers don't change my enjoyment, and I care even less about the opinions of others regarding my taste.

I'm more wondering why you want to ruin other people's fun? Are you a troll? A lonely, sad guy sitting alone in his room, and this is the last joy in your life? Are you just toxic? What is it?
Said like a true Dustborn fan. Same situation, different game...

It's not like actual gamers had to deal with this nonsense invading established franchises and ruin them for years now, since the devs knew making a new game with such nonsense ends up like this game here: making no money and possibly closing down the studio in the long run...

THAT is why we care! People like you, that don't care if established franchises are ruined and then ask why people complain, are the actual toxic ones! Toxic for gaming....

I do not believe this game was made with short-term sales expectations from the general/average public in mind. This feels to me like a side-project greenlit for a specific public.
Its been in development for 5 years, its AAA and is a 2 part series, I would not expect it to be made with short term sales.
You mean this game: Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, was in developement in 5 yers? What i found is "The game was first introduced through a teaser trailer during the 2023 Game Awards", so prettu much 2 years?

You may not judge it based on sales but the parent company that will close the studio for sure does.

So what? The game will still be there even if Dontnod isn't. So I can still have fun with it. I'm focusing purely on the game in this discussion, not the developer.
If the studio shuts down there won't be any continuation for the series you like and enjoy causing the loss of potential future games you would have had fun with. The game sold quite poorly and is flop even if you enjoy it.

I enjoy the game, so I wouldn't change anything about it. Therefore, Dontnod will face the same outcome whether I consider sales or not. So your whole line of reasoning against me doesn't make sense.

Same answer as for Plake.

From the Wikipedia. As a result, the Montréal studio was established in 2020 and commenced development and production of Bloom & Rage. So it sounds like it was started then but I could be interpreting it incorrectly.

You clearly didn't understand what I wrote...
But regardless, this thread is about how the game flopped and with the numbers ya, its a flop.

I understand what you're saying, but I have a different view on that.

This thread is ostensibly about the fact that this game is a flop, but subliminally it's about someone wanting to gloat because a game that doesn't share their views isn't successful. To me, that's a bad character trait.

Ok but that is just your personal perspective/opinion. I see it as someone who dislikes the direction game studios are going and is actively protesting against something they dislike, that is my personal opinion.

I see that, just like how most religious people have a different view on evolution... But don't worry: the pockets of DEI infested publishers are slowly drying up, another year or two filled with these kind of games and we're slowly back to common sense.

You're absolutely right, it's not about him not being allowed to express his opinion, it's about the way he does it (especially the wording).
