Question about the impact of decissions and some other questions
Hey everyone, the game looks intersting, especially since i liked Life is Strange.

How much freedom do you have with the dialog? Is it actually impactful and does it feel natural?
Also would you say that the story feels organic? I got quite annoyed by alot of games recently that include LGBTQ+ topics but represent it in a really awful way.
Do these topic feel forced here or are they actually treated respectfully and organic?

Thank you in advance!

I cant say how much the choices impact anything since I played it only once but I was surprised that they are teenage girls and their dialogues are not stupid. They are still kids obviously but I wasn't mad about what they do/say/think. And this is something that usually annoys me so I know what I am talking about lol.
Imo it all feels natural although the girls are sometimes too nice to your character (for example they always give you infinite time to explore and record stuff on your camera. And they would always say something like "take your time and come with us once you're done filming") hehe.
These topics are there but they are all really subtle. It doesn't feel like the game is trying to educate me. Certainly entire first part of the game is more natural and nicer than any conversation with Gwen (trans character) in Double Exposure game.

// oh yeah, maybe a reallllly tiny spoiler: the only thing I felt weird about was that all these girls are actually gay (well, 2 of them at least, and I believe you can make a choice for your character to become one too)
But it is still quite believeable

Thanks! My fear was that it would be like Double Exposure which i didnt like.
I guess i just try it out. I didnt want to watch anything since i didnt want to be spoiled in any way.
My biggest complain with most games these days that include LGBTQ+ content is that it is forced and not included in a organic way.

Understandable. I think you don't have to worry here

Going off by my experiences after finishing Tape 1 and having played all previous LiS titles etc. I don't really feel like this game is interested or focussed on the actual DECISIONS making a difference, more so that it cares mostly about the relationships between the characters.

Unfortunately even then I don't really have the impression they have any lasting consequences, since the game mostly plays out EXACTLY the same, no matter how you behave or talk to the other girls. It's just mostly a consequence for your personal "roleplay" and immerson

Iam fine with a lack of actual outcomes as long as the narration is decent and it makes me think that i have a choice. How are the dialog options for the characters? Can you actually be mean or nice, supportive or Dismissive? or do the options you choose in general lead up to the same answer/rection only with a slightly different tone?
The dialog system is actually pretty cool. Sometimes it rewards you for waiting longer til someone finishes a sentence and more options appear, and it feels really organic. I would say the differences are more subtle, like instead of "good or evil", you can choose "incredibly cringe teenager speak or something slightly more normal". It's hard to tell how impactful the options are currently since Tape 2 isn't out yet. Choices mattered a LOT in LiS 2, and I wouldn't be surprised if there was a huge impact here.

ah yes, I completely forgot about the feature. It is great and feels natural. Silence is the option too

Sounds good! I give it a try today, thanks for the answers.

I assume you've played LIS:DE recently.

This game is a GREAT improvement than that title.

All of the elements of story telling DNTND is known for gets greatly improved upon here.
The environments are way more interactive and exploratory. If you enjoy atmospheric environments / settings, this game alone is fun.

For those of us that enjoy reading all the intractable items like books, papers, notes, ads, trinkets, license plates and graffiti. they offer callbacks to other games and clues to the plot of the story.

The conversations imo have been greatly upgraded. I love that you can choose not to answer people, interrupt them or be interrupted by others.

Listening to someone fully speak offers more options and contextual responses vs just immediately responding. This is a upgrade compared to the other games where there are 1 - 3 responses that will lead into a predetermined branch of events. Here in LR there is just more branches making the choices feel important.

The LGBTQ+ stuff is not in your face but it gives you wide open options for those who want. You can completely avoid romancing anyone. I will say one of the characters is clearly and obviously lesbian / bi and makes no attempts to not express them. She's just very flirty and direct but doesn't shame you or constantly nag you to like her.

If you like the LIS games, at least LIS:BTS to LIS 2, you will definitely like this game.
It's a slow start but the game hooks you and I learned to appreciate the interactions and environments more.

So far i enjoy it, even though im mad the game isnt smooth on max graphics argh. I assume you mean Nora who is lesbian/bi? :D I dont mind LGBTQ+ stuff at all, only if its badly implemented (Looking at you Veilguard). But for this game it just seems like real live, which is what i was looking for.
I will play more today but for now im happy with the game. Iam surprised how organic it actually feels.
