And one of the achievements in the game is' Respect Kat's Choice ', which may be triggered when Swann chooses to support Kat into the abyss .(just like in scene 25, when Kat asks Swann' You've got my back, Swann? 'Swann answers' Always')
These are my thoughts on this Game:

Other Timelines or Dimensions
You can find find a letter (fanfic, Beyond the X) in Swanns room in the secret stash and a Videotape with the tv-series Sliders. Also if u type the Phonenumber more than 1 time wrong, Kats voice can be heard. Than there are Shadow People, when u first walk in Wood at night and if u wake up to look for Kat and should follow the Moths. The most important hint is when u stand at the abyss and talk to Kat and answer i don´t know.
It could be that Kat is from another Dimension or Timeline and trying to change her fate and maybe in her origin World Swann was the only one she could rely on, its hinding that way from the dialogs u have with her.
Witchcraft/Druids
it could all be connected 1882 the Miners, the missing of Gus and so on and the „Abyss“ is the Land who curses the People who are hurting the Natur and the Land. It chooses 4 Persons to be the circle to punish these People (enemies of the Nature).
There a many occult and creepy things which pointing this way, the little Doll (first time in the attic) who appear on different places, the mushroom circle (Fairy Ring), the Hideout of the Girls and the Raven with violet eyes. The Bloody Marry dare ^^
Illness/Fantasy
Swann is hurt in the climax and all of this is a dream (she is in Coma) or its her fantasy when shes writing her Book and all of this is just something she is inmagion.
The only hint for that was for me when she told that she is writing a book.
Some other thoughts without a real connection or hints but would love to hear ur thoughts about it:
The Wolfmask: why must it be a Man (Corey) ever thought that it may be Kat? Why do i think so because of the eyes and it could be that she is imitating the Wendigo to scare the Hunters away from Gertie.
Broken Antler (Watertower) one of the comets hits it when the Girls are watching them and a accident could happen to Kat.
Corey wont get the Farm (look at the start of the Game at the Flyers before entering the Bar) so something will happen to him!i think it could be something between Dylen and him, some hints about that can be found in the Game.
Shadows that can be seen! Maybe that are echos from other times (past and/or future) od dimensions? When u Play ur „Rock Music Video“, when all went Black and the violet light emits there is a Shadow Person by the Stairs maybe its Noras Father?
Ever seen the „secret“ szene in the Hideout? When Swann should make Fire go to the attic, sit there for the nice few and stand up, now Kat should appear and want to talk to u, it changes some lines when u do the interview with her.

If we're talking about the same scene (When Swann leaves the car) it's for sure a dude in a mask. (not 100% that it's Corey though)

Inspired by your internet sleuthing I did some digging:
Based on Lunar charts for 1995: there was a full Lunar eclipse on April 15th (Most likely when Kat's Journal entry was written)
While I don't have an exact date. April is the last time the Tuttle comet was spotted. It could have been that it was close enough to Earth at that time for Kat to make some supernatural connection.
Wow! I didn't even consider that the meteor shower could be a real-world event!
Piggybacking off of your discovery I looked into the comet:
The Perseid meteor shower is a result of Earth encountering the debris trail left by comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle as it orbits the sun.
109P/Swift–Tuttle is a periodic comet with an orbital period of 133 years.
It was last observed in April 1995
The comet was independently discovered July 1862 (The oldest referenced date I could find in the game was 1882, Has anyone found anything earlier?)
If she does jump in right after the meteor shower That would be crazy! (In a good way)
We can postulate that no one goes missing until at least mid-September + we still have the deer auction to attend. So there's a good chance Kat's still with us. This could be the start of the girl's time shenanigans!

Have you heard the voiceover on the Anomaly tape?

It could be some variant of Kat has already made the sacrifice, and at some point, and our Kat will have to choose whether to follow suit.
I don't believe the Abyss is giving them what they want.
My theory is The girls are somehow siphoning power through the Abyss. Probably at a cost to themselves.
I don't really have anything to back this up.

I agree that Kat's line at the Abyss if you say "I don't Know", is definitely hinting that at least she knows. Whether it's a Kat from a different timeline instructing her, or Kat herself has time traveled. I think there is Time stuff going on here!
did you see the Gil Davidson article in the pool room?
it talks about "Aliens" I believe it's actually the miners who have traveled through time with the affect of the abyss that is described in Beyond:x "eyes that held the vastness of the universe, and skin that sparkled as if kissed by starlight" sounds pretty alien to me.
My current Theory on what the miners are doing, Is maybe serving as timeline protectors of some kind?

I dislike the "it was all in your head" troupe. I've never seen it done well. So I haven't been looking it at through that lens, But I'll keep this in mind for my next playthrough.
You're right about the eyes, It's hard to see them so I can't tell if they are 2 toned or not. I'm mostly basing it on The length style and color of the hair.

Fun fact: The meteor shower they talk about in the game is an actual meteor shower that happens every year (Kudos to 4umOZavR for pointing that out) The comet had already passed some time in April of that year. The meteor shower is just the debris it leaves in its wake while it's not likely a meteor would make it through the atmosphere it does happen, I could see one coming down and hitting the water tower for sure.
But I have an alternative theory:
I think the abyss is fueled by the comet. And the girls are fueled by the abyss, so maybe in the wake of the comet, the girls and anyone else affected by the Abyss will lose control over the power they have been given. Which could lead to colossal damage.
Yes! I agree 100%. The cracks are already showing in tape 1 (The letter from Dylan in the motorcycle)
The girls mentioned at the bar in 2022 that Corey was blamed for the "Incident" at the Ranch. This is probably going to push him to be an even more antagonistic character in tape 2

I hope their theory on Kat's illness being awoken by the abyss is correct.
My current theory on the supernatural mystery of the game is the abyss is a wormhole. So I'm holding out hope that we can go back in time and stop her before she uses too much power.

When talking with Gus and Pam at the bar: Gus asks if you would ever come back to Velvet Cove. There's an unlockable dialogue choice that's something along the lines of; I'd come back for my friends.
It might be showing a willingness to live in a loop to stay connected.
Following that line of thought. Maybe Kat is the only one who knows about the loop and is ready to move on.
That could be the choice we have to respect from Kat (The dead poets society achievement)

While reading your theories I think it being a worm hole makes sense and could have some pretty interesting implications, honestly that kind of makes me think of that German tv show called Dark I think which I hear is really good. But also, I noticed during the scene where they get mad at Corey for trying to take Kat away that they seem to be getting "possessed" at times (eyes turn purple) so I am not sure if it is JUST a wormhole. Also the ravens eyes are purple when you start the game very first scene, so I think it could very well be at least some sort of entity kind of like in Game of Thrones I forgot the name but he could travel back in time by possessing creatures and even people (to a degree).

That makes a lot of sense! Like you said it would explain why the birds have purple eyes. I thought the girls were somehow siphoning power through the abyss, but maybe there's an entity in there using their power on them.
If we assume someone is "warging" it would fits with Dragonfirefly theory of punishing those who disturb nature. ( as they do tend to care about about the animals they posses)
I'm reluctant to say there's straight-up magic, But I can't deny that the facts are piling up. Maybe there is a druid / witch at work?

After you provided this screenshot, I rewatched the video again and made a series of screenshots.
It seems that our initial guess that it was Corey was very close to the truth.
The main point is the eyes. They really look like the ones Cory has. It can't be a reflection of something, because it shouldn't be that way (even if there is a strong light source somewhere, like a flashlight).

I doubt that a comet could have done this, because they burn up at an altitude of 70 km! Although some of them are able to reach the ground, this is extremely unlikely.
This is similar to Kat losing her hair.
It's hard to say. "Haunted" is a weird way to describe the night the abyss was found. I don't have any theories on this yet...

He could be wrapped up in something supernatural, I don't think it's werewolves, But that does tie into The book Autumn Requests. (which references a full moon, this could be a hint at Werewolves) It could give us some insight into this event,

here's my interpretation of the book's summary
I think the "New neighbors" could be posed, or swapped townies.
"Luke" is a stand-in for Dean.
The "Kiss" is a confrontation.
"A chance encounter under a full moon" August 10th(Based on lunar charts) 2 days before the meteor shower
The something awoken In Jessica (Autumn) could be the abyss magic flaring up.
"Luke tells her that she can trust him."
Nora and Autumn's phone secrets about each other both involve them running into Dean almost like he's trying to get close to them. (Autumn said she sent him away, But Nora said she sounded guilty when she told her.) Nora also mentions how into Dean Autumn was. So there's a chance he'll be able to manipulate her.

I think his "Pride" is his DnD group (Which I believe Corey is a part of). My thought on the "missing people" is that they could be abducting and replacing people à la "Invasion of the Body Snatchers". Maybe In exchange for power, similar to but not the same as the Abyss powers, Or maybe they themselves have already become pod people?
(This is conjecture, I haven't found any evidence pointing to body snatchers, But we can assume it's not the same possessing we see with the birds, as Corey does not have purple eyes in the screenshot)
Maybe the night Corey chases them wearing the mask The DnD group plans to swap the girls?
The big issues with this theory are:
that a wolf pack is not called a "pride"
There is no evidence of body snatchers. (The flowers that grow at the abyss and the fact that the comet would make a great alien delivery device, could hint at it but I haven't found anything concrete)
The book and the mask we see are both wolf-related, so even if my theory is wrong I do feel confident The wolf mask and autumns books are connected.
If anyone has any other interpretation or alternate theories I'd love to hear them!

It's a shame this is missable. I still find it amusing several playthroughs in! I especially love how she throws her hands up at the end to be like come on I was just joking. What a good prank!
I guess that Abyss will punish those who hunt deer. Gil Davidson and the miners both disappeared because of hunting deer(From the news of Gil Davidson's disappearance, we know that he went hunting at that time. In the cabin, we can also find deer skulls and bullets for hunting.)
Those who love deer may have the ability to curse. (Moreover, will those who do not love deer but still want to gain curse ability from the abyss reverse the curse upon themselves？)
i know from a video i watched u can find a grave at the hideout when u look for Kat, pointing at the Miners. In this szene i always followed the glowing moths so im eager to find out what else can be found (in other places too).
Two things i want to add:
The Ravens with the purple eyes could it be the eyes of the abyss? i mean they are sitting there, everywhere, when u finally find the abyss. So what i mean is the abyss could influence the Living (The Girls, Ravens) it even "punish" Corey, when he want to get Kat back (he gets somekind of Headache).
The Loop Idea (i prefer the Supernatural) but what if Swann is in somekind of "Loop" and only Kat could break that loop but the price would be Kat stays in the abyss and the three Girls would lose the memories or some memories.
Or Swann decided to stay with Kat in the Abyss in the "secret" attic scene/dialoge swann can say "i would rather stay with you here, just the two of us" .

I also wonder what significance it has that both Swann and Autumn are more physically linked to the Abyss through their sacrifices.
Swann gives a lock of her hair (could this hint at the reason we haven’t seen her face yet?) and Autumn invites the Abyss into herself by saying she wants to know how deep it is and what it knows.
There also seems to be something Nora doesn’t tell us, meanwhile she is seemingly one of the people that should prove that the Abyss‘ powers work. She wanted to be famous and she has become an influencer.
Another thing I keep circling around is what’s up with Corey?
I’m basically 100% sure he’s the masked man that’s hunting them, nobody else has heterochromia. The eye colour also (just design wise) hints that there is more to him than we think. A duality. And I think we see a glimpse of that during the concert in the closing scene of Tape 1. He looks at the group almost as if he’s admiring them, he doesn’t look annoyed, more impressed. And when Kat collapses, he is the one to pick her up and set things in motion to get her to the hospital. On the other hand, there are pretty obvious clues that he’s abusive towards Dylan. She has a bruised forehead and he is very overtly objectifying her, making decisions for her etc.
It’s all very interesting!
