Black screen and nothing
Every time I try to launch the game I just get a black screen and nothing happens.

Yes. I verified the integrity of files and restarted Steam, so one of those things fixed it, lol

Yeah, restarted steam and a game a few times, eventually it started to work x_x
It's still black screen for me, I can't play😔

Same for me, the game is just a black screen and then it quits out. ive tried restarting steam multiple times too
Well, I can't help as I did nothing. It started to work somehow. Only got new video drivers, that's all.

Black screen issues, and yet no one provides their system specs—classic. If you're looking for an actual fix instead of just hoping it "magically works," start with the basics:

1️⃣ Verify Integrity of Game Files – Steam > Library > Right-click Lost Records: Bloom & Rage > Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files. This checks for corrupted or missing files.

2️⃣ Update GPU Drivers – If you’re running outdated graphics drivers, you’re asking for trouble. Nvidia users: grab the latest from GeForce Experience. AMD users: update via Adrenalin Software. Intel users… well, good luck.

3️⃣ Check for Background Apps – Overlays (Discord, GeForce Experience, MSI Afterburner) can conflict. Disable them and see if it helps.

4️⃣ Force Windowed Mode – If the game crashes instantly, try launching it in windowed mode:
- Right-click the game in Steam > Properties > Launch Options > Type: `-windowed -noborder`

5️⃣ Delete Config Files – Sometimes a bad setting bricks the game:
- Navigate to `%LOCALAPPDATA%\LostRecords`
- Delete or move the config files, then relaunch.

6️⃣ Check DirectX & Visual C++ Runtimes – If either is missing or outdated, the game might refuse to run. Install the latest versions from Microsoft’s official site.

7️⃣ Try a Different Display Mode – If you have a dual-monitor setup, disable secondary monitors and set your main display to 1080p temporarily.

If all else fails, drop your full system specs (CPU, GPU, RAM, OS) so someone can actually help instead of just guessing. Blind troubleshooting is useless.

Looks like this game is a no-go for anyone on a Steam Deck LCD (and probably OLED as well) with Windows as their main OS. 😮‍💨

- using OLED drivers
- updated C++ runtimes
- verified file integrity
- tested the game from both Internal SSD and a SD card
- borderless window mode
- everything on low settings

The game crashes three after starting a new story, EVERY time. I'm done! Hopefully a patch will fix this.
I get a black screen when I start the game as well. I can tell the game is running as it's making some kind of selection noise when I move my mouse around. But yeah, just a black screen.

Hi, found the solution looking though crashdmp and it fixed for me. Might crash DLSS later though haven't tested too much yet but game boots up now.

Delete sl.pcl.dll on Lost Records - Bloom & Rage\Engine\Plugins\NvidiaDLSS\Plugins\Streamline\Binaries\ThirdParty\Win64\

Unfortunately this solution didn't work for me.

Might fix just when it black screens and crashes then, too bad. :(
What helped me solve this problem was updating my processor driver. My processor AMD ryzen 7 3750h. Before this there was also a black screen, but after updating the driver the game started working. Before this I tried other methods, but most likely this one helped
