Additionally... which characters are lesbians and how do you know?
It seems quite obvious they are all women and lesbian. When's the last time you saw a game that was all about a man and being a man and being either straight or gay and wouldn't it be quite shallow and boring if it was about nothing but being a man with other men and going after women. So you are way off the make here.
Besides within the past 5 or so years there has been movies, games stories and music and whatever exclusively about women who love women lesbian themes forced into everything and I for one am getting quite tired of it. The world is much bigger and deeper than platonic females that want to be together sexually. I've seen so much of this I don't care and I never did. I have a relative who is lesbian and I'm fine with that but I don't need a whole game about it.
Macho straight games and movies are no less common than movies about two women who fall in love with each other and lately it seems every game or story has to be have two woman having a sexual romance. For one I think all women are queer
to some degree for there isn't anything to lose they aren't doing much with each other but loving and caressing and whats to hate about another women? So this is why its not really even intriguing anymore hear about to woman having a sexual attraction to one another, it so common that its gotten old.
While "men going after women" is rarely the main story thread in any game it's present in some form in almost all games featuring a relationship.
What are these lesbian themes you see forced into media? Two people in love? That happens all the time. Doesn't even have to be gay. If a story is meant to be a love story then it's about two people in love. The only gay "theme" I've seen in any media is our coming out stories which are unique to us.
And lesbians aren't "platonic". We do quite truly fall in love with each other. And then there's asexual lesbians like me who literally don't even want sex.
While you're absolutely right that there's nothing wrong with being a lesbian and it SHOULDN'T be anything special, the reality is that we're treated extremely poorly by society as a whole. We're told "it's okay to be gay, I just don't want to see it!". Meanwhile heterosexuality is quite literally EVERYWHERE. We're told to hide by people who "accept us"
So I'll ask again, when you look at these screens and watch these trailers, what makes you think that A) This story is specifically about being a woman and B) This story is specifically about being a lesbian and C) Which of the characters do you think is a lesbian?
eee, you dont represent any major buying groups.
The whole lgbt part of humanity is 2% to 2.5% of human population, the Default and the normal on our planet for Mammaals and most other life form, is 1 male + 1 female
You know what is even more tiresome? This being stated of any game that features a female lead. That apparently a game, show, film etc featuring a female lead is having an agenda.
It's a lot more than 2% according to Statistica https://www.statista.com/statistics/1270143/lgbt-identification-worldwide-country/
I don't know about whether we should have the same percentage represented in media. I feel personally that media creators should have the creative freedom to portray their characters however they wish to, free from bullying and harassment.
I'll admit, that I tend to skip past them, but I'm still pretty sure that gender reassignment wasn't in the terms of service. ;-)
I wonder how many people who are struggling with the idea of following the story of a female character in Lost Records didn't have the same problem with pretending to be Lara Croft
Maybe they've had previous incidents, and Lost Records is giving them flashbacks. I can well imagine that after they first watched Thomas the Tank Engine, they spent the rest of the day running around making 'choo choo' noises.
