alice's student card?

as i understand the puzzles in this game are procedurally generated so there's no consistent solution to solving them. however i'm left scratching my head as i tried to figure out where to find her student card. my logic was:

"she was returning 2 specific books. i will look them up in the index and take them out and examine them in the hopes that the card maybe got left inside one of the books"
and that turned up nothing so i put them back.

then i went downstairs into the archive room and talked to the archivist and looked at the index for the archives she had been studying down there. "maybe the card is with the archive?" i thought to myself as i examined the box. i flipped through each individual page in the archive and the student card was not inside.

i made sure to check the floor of each library section as well as the specific archive room and i am now at a loss for where it could possibly be.

Sounds like you have checked two out of three possible locations. Allison also mentioned that she attended a lecture at the auditorium, have you checked that location?

Just FYI, I've now started two new games and the Lecture Room was still locked despite having the task to find the student card. I had to reload 3 saves for the card to end up in one of the books so I could progress. Seems like the Lecture Room isn't always open when it needs to be.

The lecture hall door is randomized, so that it will be open for three days every five day period (exlucing exam or lecture days) . So it's possible that it's not always open when you need to use it. Finding the student card task is not time related, so it shouldn't matter if you complete it a bit later.

Good to know! I was under the impression it was time related and worried I wouldn't have time to find it if the Lecture Room was locked.

I'm having the same issue, and I have checked every part of the auditorium as well as the two books and the box in the archives. Checked the trash bin, the benches and under the cabinet in the auditorium, it's not there.

Ok, sounds like you found all the possible locations for the student card. Some detailed hints: Did you look at the two books Allison mentioned? Did you check the space under the cabinet in auditorium with a rod of some sort? And did you lift up and look at each of the documents in the archives?

Just to be sure, did you pick up the books Allison mentioned and looked at them in the inventory (it's not enough to look at them on the library shelf)? Oh, and one more place that I forgot to mention before, did you examine the rug at the auditorium?

I'm also having a similar problem, checked both books, all of the records in the box, and under the cabinet in the auditorium. I examined the rug but it is nailed down and I don't have a hammer yet.
