Question as a Fate anime fan
I know the anime is based off of a Hentai game. I am not looking for that... Is this game like that? I do not mind nudity, and I do not mind sexual content, I just do not want the game to be focused on Hentai.

That aside, how does the game play? Is there total freedom of movement, or are your railroaded like FF11-13?

The answer to your question is no. This is a T-rated game. There's no sex.

And the original Fate/stay night VN is only technically hentai in that it has sex scenes in it. But those are just a small handful of scenes over a 60-hour game (100+ if you go for a full clear). And that was only the very first release. Every re-release since then has replaced the H-scenes with something less adult-oriented.

At that time VNs would have sex scenes as a way to further sell their game. It wasn't super relevant to the story, but to stay competitive they'd add them to the routes or stories. Some were handled better than others.

Except the VN is not a "hentai" game, It was not a sex focused game. You could spend like 10 hours reading before you reach a seg scene.

Yeah, the sex scenes are honestly some of the worst parts of the vn (in terms of writing).

Think of this as Fate/Grand Order or Fate/Apocrypha meets Dynasty Warriors.

Why Fate/Apocrypha? I can kind of understand why you'd say grand order.

Mainly as a Anime comparison incase they never played Grand Order, Fate Stay Night was a more or less contained Grail War while Apocrypha was across multiple towns and also had forces being used along with servants.

Apocrypha introduced the "proper" grail war with 15 servants, 7 on one side, 7 on the other, plus one ruler. for anime fans. The game's setting is yet another alternate. FGO has no such rules. The plot is completely different altogether.

What do you mean? Apocrypha was a spin off written by a different author. I honestly can't tell if your trying to make a joke or not.

Yuuichirou Higashide who wrote the original Light Novel for Fate/Apocrypha is part of the writing staff for both FGO and this game

So? That doesn't mean he's just going to copy and paste what he did for Fate/Apocrypha, which is pretty hated btw. Not saying it's the worst piece of media out there, but it has a lot of flaws. And besides, I was adressing the point that the war we see in Fate/Apocrypha is in no way the "proper" grail war. It is a different system. The holy grail war has 7 servants, not 15. The holy grail war was thought up by Nasu, not Higashide.

Also, Hikaru Sakura is working on the story too, its not all by Yuichirou Higashide. And the supervision is done by Nasu.

Wouldn't that make the comparison more apt since Samurai Remnant also features a Grail War knockoff given the presence of both rogue servants AND a Ruler?

Only somewhat. For one there are not 2 sides. There are 7 servants, and then 7 rouge servants that are not on anyone's side. It's not team black vs team red like it is in Fate/Apocrypha. And secondly, as far as I know, that ruler isn't really doing much and is just selling stuff (haven't had a chance to play it yet.) Third, that is not the point, the point is Hatzuling said that Fate/Apocrypha introduced the "proper grail war" with 15 servants, which is completely wrong as the war we see in Fate/Apocrypha is even said to have something wrong with it and is not the original holy grail war. The one we see in Fate/Apocrypha is called the "Great Holy Grail War". A traditional holy grail war is like the format of fate stay night and fate zero, 7 servants and 7 masters. Although you could argue fate stay night is somewhat improper because caster is a master and summons a fake assassin and due to what we see in Heavens Feel
