Family library sharing

My friend's sharing a library with me. He bought Fate/Samuraii Remnant. I can play any of his games besides this one. What must be the matter? Is it somehow locked from sharing?

same issue. i believe publishers can choose whether or not they let their games be shared. out of all the horrible publishers i own games from, koei tecmo is the only one ive ever seen do this.

Weird thing is that it doesn't show up on the list of games that are being withheld from the family share.

Having this issue too - it's not tagged as excluded from library sharing currently, though it was before release - so not sure if something in steam has gotten tripped up?

I though that it might be a region issue but i checked it with my second steam account and it seems like this one is excluded from family share.

One of my other friends is able to play the game through family share, so i have no idea whats up with it

Hope it gets sorted. Main reason I got it on PC was for that. If it was just going to be for me, I would have gone with a PSN purchase, at least the early purchase bonus there is for your own characters.

I'm sharing the game with my brother and he was able to play the game yesterday, but now it's not working.
It doesn't even show it in my list of games that are excluded from steam family sharing and on steamdb it doesn't say that it is excluded (https://steamdb.info/app/1902690/info/ doesn't have exfgls (Exclude from family sharing) to yes in info).
It might just be a bug so I contacted steam support.

Hi, I'm his brother. We received a reply from Steam Support telling us to do basic troubleshooting stuff for Family Sharing (even though we stated that resetting the sharing changed nothing).

They also told us that a specific game might be excluded from family sharing for these reasons:

The game is free to play
The content is a free to play game's DLC
Free DLC is not able to be shared
The game is region restricted
The game requires an additional third-party CD Key and/or account
The DLC you are attempting to borrow is for a free to play game or for a game that you already own
The lending user is VAC banned in that game
System limitations
Developer decision

Weirdly enough, they haven't considered the fact that I was able to play it before. Also, it doesn't seem to be in the list of excluded games.

It might get some time to get another reply. I hope they read our message and look at my screenshots before copy pasting things though.

I contacted Koei Tecmo Support yeterday, but I heard their support is so bad that they'll probably never read my ticket.

It's weird because when I go to my list of game excluded from family sharing https://store.steampowered.com/account/managedevices/?showexcluded=1 , Samurai Remnant isn't there. There is clearly something wrong with Steam's system.

We bought the game a second time (on my account) so I could play it...

However, I asked them to display Fate/Samurai Remnant as "Excluded from Family Sharing" because it is absent from the list of excluded games when it is clearly excluded now.
