I don't get it is Saber a boy or a girl?
You have a ton of characters referring to Saber as a girl but Iori and the game logs always use gender ambiguous language and question marks.

Just curious are they a boy or a girl?

It seems the gender of Saber is meant to be ambiguous so I can’t judge.

According to his backstory he’s a prince in disguise crossdressing as a maid.

Read the story:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamato_Takeru

It is said the tale resembles much of that of the King Arthur legend. Hence it is also possible this guy’s a female trying to look a male like the previous Fate.
wikipedia の投稿を引用:
Anthropologist C. Scott Littleton has described the Yamato Takeru legend as "Arthurian"[3] due to some structural similarities with the King Arthur legend. Common points include the use of two magic swords, of which the first validates the authority of the hero; the leadership role of a war band; the death to an enemy after giving up the sword to a female figure; a transportation to the after world; and others.[4] Littleton proposed that both legends descend from a common northeast Iranian ancestor.[5]

Pretty sure in Saber's flashbacks, the dad called saber "my son"
it was like "my son go kill the enemies"

and his true name is of a dude's

Yes but saber themselves never acknowledges it either..

As they respond indifferently to being addressed as either gender.. as Kaya assumes saber is a female early in the game, and saber just runs with it..

When it comes to servants.. sometimes it's intentionally left ambiguous.. as is the case for saber..

As a long time fan of the franchise, gender bending, is so common to fate, until we get extended cannon to confirm one way or the other it's just best to go with which ever you want them to be..

This is very mild gender line bluring for fate..

Meh d'eon gender is ? and yet whole fandom knows its a dude given he hangs out with astolfo all the time
And if saber was a chick, she would have fallen in love with him because saber chicks always fall in love with their master in Fate series

Not to mention theres also r34, everyone, literally everyone draws saber as a guy

Is a dude

Definitely a boy since he has a wife. You can also look at his hands they are bigger for a woman model compared to other female servants.

Actually it's intentionally left ambiguous..

The female king Arthur was able "father" mordrid with aid of merlins magic.. Though traditional means of conception.. (this is fate cannon btw)

Gender doesn't mean much in the fate universe
Arthur was father by magic, this Saber was boy by birth.

You can go to Thailand and also find a girl but actually she is a boy so?
Perhaps if this game was more in line with the series origins (Fate/Stay Night the visual novel) then we'd probably get an idea of Saber's gender, except it wasn't very important to the story. All we really need to know is that Saber's a proud sword saint who enjoys simple comfort foods, is easily impressed and/or excited seeing the sights, and has an Excalibur-like Noble Phantasm that is more of a Hydro Cannon than a Hyper Beam.

Saber could be a cute boy or a cute girl. It's a toss up given it's never addressed, but they fit right in with Iori prepping during the day and then fighting into the night. I just liked Saber as a character and wouldn't mind knowing more on top of the gender mystery.

I'm going to say yes.

In one world, Saber's a girl, in another, Saber's a boy. both are equal. I headcanon this Saber is a girl, but from a different reality.

It's ambiguous, until confirmed though cannon..

Early in the game Kaya makes jokes about Saber being a pretty girl and Saber just runs with it..

Then the memory scenes create contradictions..

Saber is likely a similar case to Musashi, in that they were summoned from parallel timelines. Which is why they were the only ones aside from circe who had any ablity to resist being taken control of..

The memory sequences cannot be taken confirmation.. they referred to Saber as a male in the original fate memory sequences. Though she denies her female gender. Where as samurai remnant Saber, doesn't acknowledge or deny their gender in any form..
anyone who has played fgo also knows that servants have influence over how they appear in their manifestation, Da vinci appears as a woman/girl for the fun of it, using the mona lisa as a basis for his appearance

assuming you haven't seen fate stay, basically gives me those vibes of Shirou and Saber (Altira).
and Yes she is a she, and Iori calling Saber by her name is not ambigious.

That depends on servant, like Altira, Jack, as examples

In case of Da vinci it's because she considers mona lisa as the golden ratio/perfection; which is also reflected as one of her skills. It's not that Da vinci wanted to be female, it's just the perfection Da vinci archived is in the form of it.

After replaying the game to 6 times now just to get achievements

Saber is 100% a dude

Literally in his flashbacks, his dad calls him a "he" and "my son"
And parent knows their child

All of the dialogue in the game from people who know who Saber is, refers to them as He/Him. However, it's worth noting that Saber equally does not care that others refer to them as She/Her.

Meanwhile Iori throws They/Them around a lot, but they also do it with other characters, not just Saber, so I think it's just Iori being very neutral about Servants in general.

So to me the implication is that Saber is a biological man but firmly does not care even a little bit what people call them. A more progressive game would have touched on that and probably written them as more explicitly non-binary or genderfluid, but alas they didn't really go into it like at all, which leaves the character open to interpretation. And IMO, interpreting them as genderfluid or non-binary is just the logical conclusion.

They are comfortable with whatever you decide to call them. There's no right or wrong answer. They don't care.

As someone who's extremely familiar with fate..

Until saber themselves gives confirmation one way or the other, it's just best either to look at them as however you so choose.

Gender really doesn't mean anything when it comes to servants.. some aren't even human.. and in some Cases are personifications of objects or concepts. Where gender is forced upon them..
Takeru's sex is marked as "?" in fgo if anyone's wondering, the luck rank is also marked as "A?" as and the material is also hinted for someone close to Takeru to appear as it says "No one is blessed more with chance meetings than me." So I guess Iori is gonna be the second pick up?
