I don't get it is Saber a boy or a girl?
You have a ton of characters referring to Saber as a girl but Iori and the game logs always use gender ambiguous language and question marks.

Just curious are they a boy or a girl?

According to his backstory he’s a prince in disguise crossdressing as a maid.

It is said the tale resembles much of that of the King Arthur legend. Hence it is also possible this guy’s a female trying to look a male like the previous Fate.

im pretty sure the likely explanation is that they're biologically male (given how when Iori looks into their mind you get to hear their father referring to them as "my son") but they don't actually care what people refer to them as or prefer to not have a gender assigned to them

plus if you look at the artbook the reference material portrays them with a very boyish build

Yes

I would say saber is a girl considering their anime counterparts and that in the game the iori’s sister calls Saber big sister and there’s a whole thing with her thinking Iori is in a relationship with Saber. So I’d expect them to be a her. It’s not really unclear about her gender.

Yeah, it seems they're playing around with it, since Fate's Saber protagonists are often sex-swapped, but they're just ambiguous and a bit short, and put side-by-side with Iori makes people assume that they're a woman of Iori's age (and his lover), rather than a boy of Kaya's age.

Also, lots of Fate women have the tendency to wear high heels, which makes it more obvious that Saber is a man, and Shousetsu is a woman, but the story doesn't care that much.

From interviews with Nasu, head-honcho of the Fate series, Saber is actually written/intended to be a non-binary character without shoving it down peoples throats (game doesn't really acknowledge this fact well but I chop that up to the game taking place in the 1600s)

Some people are saying this but I've never seen anything with link or pic of this interview, plus Nasu didn't touch Takeru and the main writer is Hikaru Sakurai with Yuichiro Higashide.

I'm thinking it's a boy.

Fate deals alot with multiverses and parallel realities

In the time line the game takes place in, both were male, but the timeline they were summoned from they were female.

That's the easiest way to understand it

Definitely a boy since he has a wife. You can also look at his hands they are bigger for a woman model compared to other female servants.

Actually it's intentionally left ambiguous..

The female king Arthur was able "father" mordrid with aid of merlins magic.. Though traditional means of conception.. (this is fate cannon btw)

Gender doesn't mean much in the fate universe

Pretty sure in Saber's flashbacks, the dad called saber "my son"
it was like "my son go kill the enemies"

and his true name is of a dude's
