Can you make pause mean pause?

I have noticed that even when I hit the pause button to look around at my cities, troops, headquarters, etc., the moment I leave the interface the game goes back to the last game speed. Is there any way to make pause mean pause?

Perhaps this is just a personal issue, but sometimes I put the game speed on 2x to get something resolved and then I pause it, tinkering around a bit and then it goes back to 2x speed and I don't notice what is going on. It may be old man syndrome.

I now put the game on half speed before I pause the game, just in case I forget that time is moving and I may not be aware of it. But I would prefer that pause means pause until I choose to select the game speed on the interface.

It was different before. After leaving the overlay, the time needed to be started manualy again. I think they changed it, or it is a bug. At the momemt I don't know, if it can be changed.

Yes I prefeer the old system and to allow spacebar to make pause.

We will fix that. Exit from any panel will restore the previous game speed. If you had pause before opening a panel then pause will be activated.
