Remaining troops was lured again to my main forces later (they chased my poor 1k brigade until doom found them).
Also, if you wipe all troops and capture all settlements, then enemy won't do anything for a long time. Just chill and play economy.
Playing on hard with ai reinforcements on. Was hard at start, but when you manage to outnumber enemy and wipe it in single battle with as low casulties on your side as possible - game become easy.
Also, its possible to deal with doomstacks by tricks, but they're not working all the time.
Naval invasion took new haven and i was forced to kill 8200 soldiers. With my 8800 lost 2k, killed 2k and captured 4k as prisoners. The remaining forces surrendered after battle finished.
My feeling is that you don't want to completely leave it alone, but somehow chip away regiments from it until you have a nice advantage.
There’s no time limit on Boston for a reason, is what I’ve learned so far. They give you the objective so early that it feels urgent but it isn’t.
I would clear the map first and let the British re-take smaller towns, so you can eliminate smaller garrisons until you have a clear advantage.
Also, as you get cannons, make sure you create artillery battery in your militia regiments. Cannons are pretty solid in this game. (One battery will not do much, but once you have 6 or more, then you will see the difference).
