Stuck at 30 fps even with unknown project mod

The website says to check in the Open vars_pc.cfg and make sure it's set to 60 or whatever you want, I have done so and it says 60 yet it never goes higher than 30. Has anyone had this issue and have a solution on here?

hello,i dont haved any issues with this,i puted the FPS like my monitor Hz,and works fine.
try opening vars_pc.cfg using a notepad editor (like notepad++) and change the line:

fpsLimit=

and the same with

maxFPSLimit=

with the FPS you want,and after that,thats all.
hope you can fix it,using this method...

Yeah unfortunately it doesn't seem to change anything for me, still stuck at 30 fps. So long as it fixed the other issues I am fine with this. I played past the prologue and no crashes, so seems ok so far.

Hmm might have the reason why. Just saw someone say the patch does not work on the Australian version?

This would also explain why I still have QTE's and the frame rate doesn't go above 30.


This is what I did with the Unknown Project patch.

I ran the installer, installed it in the folder of the game, took that out, moved all the files in it into the directory for the game, got it to replace any existing files. So by all rights it definitely should be installed.

Ok, I think it's solved now. Turns out you need the 2.5 patch installed, I think you can only install 3.0 after that not before. 2.5 atm works with 60fps and all the other features, will update after installing 3.0 to let everyone know if that works as well after.

I can confirm that this was my issue and it's all fixed now. So for anyone who might have the same issue or similar, this should probably fix it. Make sure to have Unknown Projects 2.5 patch installed first before you install the 3.0 patch.

The 2.5 is the base patch to change FPS and edit more options.
After that,you need to download the 3.xx patches,i downloaded the 3.0E,F and the latest the 3.0G (in that order) heres the link: https://github.com/unknownproject/Silent_Hill_Homecoming/releases when you install the 2.5/3.0D,install this ones...

well... not much,the 3.0 versions are updates for the base 2.5-3.0D to fix some things and optimize things inside the game,i downloaded the 3.0E,F,G in order,but you can install only the latest 3.0G version on top 2.5 patch...
but,if you dont want to mess up the game,or you are not sure if install this one,just make it in that order ( i installed the updates one by one,and worked fine for me)...
