Silent Hill 2 Enhanced Edition at 4k 60 fps, advanced fog effect, customizable film grain, software shadows, 60 fps fmv movies mod, upscaled 2D images and DSOAL positioning audio is the absolute best version of Silent Hill 2 i've ever had the pleasure of playing.
Purists can keep playing the game at 360p/30 fps on the PS2 if they want. Or go deal with the various bugs and input delay of PCSX2 that weren't mentioned in his video (God knows how many hours i have on PCSX2) but i don't see myself ever coming back to that.
The whole forum is people posting about the poor port quality ..lol. I for one would welcome it and the only reason I'm hesitating to buy this, as I'm sure many have been doing. Waiting for a ~80% sale at least to see how good the current fixes are.
It also depends how good you are at tweaking emulators, you could style the game to your own liking and think that was the best option.
I'd recommended you just try both out since the Enhanced Edition on PC is completely free.
And I don't care about the graphics, as long as it's looking as good as the ps2-version at least.. Sometimes I imagine how [bad] it would be, if I would play Silent Hill 1.
Sure story is great too, but the original psx-game aged not that well.
So I hope there will be a remake of the first Silent Hill some day.
"Hopefully the team will work on this terrible Homecoming port when they're done perfecting SH2."
I think the team won't do a mod for Homecoming.
There is no need of spending years of work to make this game better.
Imo its one of the worst entries in the series and it probably needs more of a remake-treatment instead of an upgreading mod that would let the game look a bit better or fixing some crashes.
