SH4 on GOG: A warning.

So, I just tried the "newly" re-released SH4 on GOG. I wasn't expecting much but my god, Konami has got to be joking.

The only new thing they added was more screen resolutions. That's it. It's technically a data dump for money.

If you play in widescreen, text and still images will look stretched.

Some cutscenes look like garbage due to improper filter alignment.

Video options include resolution, gamma and brightness... That's it. No texture upscale.

No proper controller support. Buttons on my controller were all messed up. The right joystick, which is used frequently in the First-Person segment, cannot be rebinded. Up turns camera right, Right turns camera down, Down turns camera left and Left turns camera up. (EDIT: There is a SH4Config.exe in the file folder, but it's not possible to change it in-game)

A total blunder yet again by Konami. Congratulations.

Remember folks, this was released on PC 16 years ago... What took Konami so long?

As for those waiting for SH2-3, you can stop waiting now. Had they wanted to re-release SH2-3 they would have done so before SH4.

Unfortunately, you can thank the HD collection for ruining any chance at a re-release.

at least we have the enhanced edition of SH2. Which is now the best way to play SH2.

I got it and personally thought it was a good port. However SH4 is not a great game. And definetly has loads of hicccuups. Luckily the first half of the game is mostly good. However the second part is just boring, tedious and frustrating. I would only reccomend if you dont mind that. But for me the second half was a chore to play.

I think Sh4 is a great Game. Yes it´s not so awesome like the 2 before, but still ok. The FIrst half is the boring one the second is very cool and good playable. Just need all Health u picked up ,@ the first half, because u don´t need healthpacks in the first part the room heals u up. xD
