Stay the f*ck away from me man!
True. Origins had it issues though, like being able to go to the Otherworld manually rather then with forced to go into it. But it was a decent game even though Team Silent didn't handle it.
Downpour had tons of issues like the Otherworld not being explorable and barley any enemy types but it was fine. Had a original story, it's own ideas, a neat openworld of Silent Hill, and they tried with what they had.
And Homecoming had no redeeming factors. Enemy AI was crap, story was crap, controls were crap, visuals were horrible for 2008, and the game's characters all look so ugly, Puzzles were awful and frustrating with no sense of guidance, and the game's theme made no sense. Like Pyramid Head was to represent James' violent and sexual side, why is he appearing to Alex who has no sexual or violent desires? Or the Nurses who were to represent James' sexual frustration, who Alex still has no relation with? The enemies are all just there for scare factor, while Downpour had them make sense toward the protagonist, like the Brawlers representing Prisoners, Screamers are what women think of him as a prisoner, and the Boogyman is what he sees himself as. Stuff like that makes a story, while Homecoming is just full of cheap Fanservice that seems more like a middlefinger to the classic fans.
