Silent Hill: Homecoming

Silent Hill 2 Enhanced Edition
Check this out my dudes. A super-modded/super-tweaked SH2 that uses the PC version as base.

Video was released 4 days ago. If you're interested, follow the link in the description. And NO, there's no easy install. You're going to have to screw around a little to get it to work.

Good. Still Hardware shadows though (too sharp, too thin and no roundness). I wish there was a way to render the shadows in software just like the original.

This is how Konami should release SH 2-4 on PC as updated as this!! As pissed as I am with Konami if they release it for Steam like this, then they can have my money!

See bro, that's the problem. Not enough people would buy it. Only die-hard fans and survival horror afficionados would be interested. Sales figure would be around 5k max. 10k if I'm generous but it's highly unlikely. For Konami (or any game devs to be honest), the financial risk of remastering an old game is high.

So, imagine remastering Silent Hill 2 would cost around 100k but you wind up making 50k because it sold poorly. Then you go into the forums and realize a larger fraction of people are not satisfied with the remaster because it's "not exactly like the original game" and so forth. Best example would be Chrono Trigger for PC. Just look at the negative reviews and you'll see what I mean. Square Enix had the best intentions, took a financial risk and probably paid for it in the long run.

In case you didn't know, Konami has been in dire straits ever since Kojima made a giant assclown of himself. They just can't afford the financial risk of remastering the classics...

I don't agree. You're bad at math.

Ok then, keep on praying and waiting for these Silent Hill Remasters. I know I won't.

Konami made a giant assclown of Kojima, sherlock!
Defending Konami? What a freaking class act. Are you a plant?

Oh, and secretly making a demo behind his employer's back, using a franchise he didn't create or owned wasn't a ♥♥♥♥ move?

When I heard PT was secretly a Silent Hills reveal, I knew right away something terribly wrong was happening... "This is a joke" was my first thought.

Not really defending. Just trying to view both side of the coin.

When Iga from the Castlevania franchise left, did he make scene? When Team Silent got disabanded, did they throw a fit? Or how about Sakaguchi from Squaresoft who was chained to his desk for 2 decades, did you hear any inside drama ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥? Why was it only Kojima that drawed the most attention to himself when he forcefully left? Because he wanted to.

No, I'm a tree.

Why are we arguing about Konami and its former employees?

You haven't argued over anything. I ain't arguing either, just stating facts.

Anyways, I hope y'all enjoy this compilation of mods & tweaks for SH2. I sure wish SH4 for PC was modded like that...

It's an easy install, as the step-by-step is written very well. My issue that I had was getting the controller to work with the correctly layout.

Do you seriously believe your own words there, bud?

I'd rather believe in my own perception of the situation than believe Kojima was a martyr like he claimed to be...

And yes, PT/Silent Hills was a giant joke. Those who believe otherwise are blind sheeps.
