Arcade mode proposal
Was thinking about a way to preserve the core play and balance of the game in a more pure arcade fashion, and I think you could get a good setup with very minimal work with an arcade mode option that only did the following:
  • Use existing save
  • No drops, tickets, powerups, etc, just frenzy orbs and revives (maybe just turn all drops into normal orbs)
  • Can start only already cleared missions, so no map/story progress
  • Loadout gear stats and affixes all get scaled to the same level as the mission floor, no matter what level the real gear is
Basically, arcade mode would be gameplay only, but retain the ability to build and change playstyle purely on the affixes on gear, without level/floor being a factor.

It could also act as a future test space for adding scoring mechanic aspects to the game, for people who find that more motivating, widening the player market. If you get scoring to work well (which will definitely be tricky, with dynamic spawns changing and enemy-generators to account for), you can add some fixed-per-day and fixed-per-week leaderboard rooms to each arcade floor. I just like playing arcade games, but people seem to love throwing themselves at things like that, and sometimes it makes a good "I don't know what I feel like doing, so I'll just hit the daily" option.
