Where is the Demo?
This advertises having a "Free Demo", but there was no free demo.

demo test

- character creation has some generation options that seem to do nothing. like what you'd like or hate most about an elven female dictator you might see in the next 5 minutes randomly.

- cast of characters is ostentatiously colorful: the full range of pen and paper RPG aliens, including a dwarf and orc, not that i care for those. while this time there are no amputated legs and lost hearing, apparently that one chick has an eye missing and wears an eye-patch. not cheesy or overused in the least, mind you, and why do they think I'd then romance that poor cripple? oh, and you can simply not select the costume option where you have a lot of earrings, if that stuff bothers you.

- there's a funny thing you can do with pronouns if you pick the very elvish one's. it's short but there is an effect and it's funny. that's one step up from the usual fare of choice of games merely replacing the he/him string and praising themselves to be leaders of the free world. other than that, and as per usual, they/them has us marvel at how many people are there/they/they're/them. fine, i can see some people might need a "classic" button at the start.

- they offer an explanation on which skill is going to be tested when selecting a choice, which is quite helpful and makes you think what's wrong with all the other choice games that don't.

- now, the skills themselves are still banished to the stats page (and there are a lot of those), but it's a gradual improvement, maybe in a couple centuries choice games will figure out what transparency versus obscurity means in games. And what it means when you promised players a "sepia" color setting and then that doesn't work in hundreds of games.

- writing seems serviceable, but suffers from too mundane use of language. "Hell, yeah" doesn't really work in a world of elves. "by Angrosh's beard" could work, but not "by Zeus' beard", unless there are Romans. apparently spontaneity is codified into having to swear to make clear how agile of mind one is. or it's the outgoing/extrovert option, couldn't figure that one out. anyway, if you aren't concerned about the lack of explanation on if there is an elven hell, no biggie.

- offering a middle-ages thief money after a failed coup doesn't have the expected reaction of them falling on their butt and stuttering. Instead they react like fresh out of Yale and maintain they aren't out for charity while shaking you down. astoundingly there was no option to call the city guard, split their skull with a berzerker axe or Samson's donkey jaw cudgel, enthrall them with a never-ending filibuster of legalese, or enslave them into lifelong servitude. Or both.

- demo ends on a cliffhanger with a prompt to Buy Now! before the price rises, and then a pre-order button, but none of this works. I am not sure the price rising will work, but am cautiously optimistic.
