During his first phase, he is weak to all Magic if the flames are spent, when instead the sparks and flames spark he is neutral and resistant to all non-fire attacks, respectively.
So what you want is to focus on the first one with magic attacks.
You can actually absorb him in the first turn with this combo:
During his second phase he is weak to Neutral Magic so your priorities should be :
Speaking of which, one of the worst mistakes many make is to stale your moves. From the second time in a turn they'll deal half absorb damage and get worse with more stacks, while only removing one stack per turn. Deflect and Counterspell obviously aren't affected by staling
The third phase has no weaknesses, but the Whip Combo, Lightning Lv3 will hit both the first arm and the main body(or the main body and the rear arm if the first arm is destroyed), while Unified Division and non-charged Bow attacks will hit all three, not that the latter is much use
If you still get him killed, feed him lv 3 Fire which he'll absorb(except for the first phase if the ground isn't ablaze). You should never need to, however.
