I would love a dedicated firewood job where they cut the stumps and keep fires going.
I've noticed a ton of villagers end up carrying items that are not needed by them, but they don't seem to ever get rid of them either. Ill find 3-5 iron planing knives being held by someone like a cook, for example.
I agree the issues with the blacksmith/metalworkers. Haven't had villagers on boats myself yet. They just stay on shore to fish. Good suggestions!
about the fishermen, just look at my screenshot of what happens when they don't finish their work. i have drawn the circle on the screenshot where they normally fish and on the mimimap where the boat is now. they always want to have a rented boat when it is on the beach and they could use it, but they don't because it is not attached to the fishing jetty
as for the tools, i know what you mean. it sometimes seems like they're getting tools, but that they're also working with them. luckily, the warehouse workers collect everything, because when the iron tools broke, they picked them up and stored them. the npcs themselves just dropped their broken tools on the floor where i live
there is already a guard for the fire if you assign a worker to the campfire. he would only have to be given the additional task of felling the stumps.
