Wolf will not bother you as long you don't go too close, but safe at mine.
Wolf den can be a bit different from different maps, all depends on ones setting.

I am having great fun on the seed Jorvik (note the capital J)
Lake and mine close to starting point. Lots of space to build, especially when you set the terrain to smooth and flat. Both spire and wolf den are far enough away to not bother your villagers.

I've been using this seed a lot. If you go almost straight east, just a tiny bit north, from the shipwreck you run into a cave. Just above the cave is a big relatively flat area with a lot of water sources. Just north of the flat area is the coast, and just east of the flat area is full of smolkrs and fenns. Wolf dens are nearby but not so close that they cause problems.
