Iron Tools

To make iron tools it says I need a carpenter, to build the carpenter add on to the workshop I need hard wood, but to cut them down I need better tools. i presume iron tools. so Im a bit stuck or im playing it wrong, how do I get around this...thanks

You need the metal working add on to the crafting hit to make the small crude iron axe head. You need a charcoal pit and a bloomer to make the iron axe head. You only need regular stick to craft that small axe to get you started with hard wood. You also probably want to find the iron mine too.

Yes, and make sure to have more than one wooden hammer when you start your blacksmithing journey. My first investment after an iron axe head was to make an iron hammer.
