Can you loot your own dead body?

It is not necessary in game, because you never leave a dead body. You either sacrifice a villager to keep your items or choose "reborn" and drop them on the ground. Hope that helps.

On looting your dead body there is no marker like some games, ark, no man's sky etc. So what I would do especially if you know you are getting close to dying I would find a clearing so you can see the things on the ground that is in your inventory and you just need to look at your surroundings to make it back there close then you can use the same key that you use to look for resources as your dead body (body disappears but loot does not) and then easy to find the resources you were carrying. I have also taken items and dropped in area around my camp so if I die far off then most of it is still at camp which so far there is no drop items and you lose things unless it would be perishibles like food with a timer running out. You could also drop a map marker if you wanted as well so you could go right back to area but I usually have map marked for other things.

So why would I ever want to sacrifice then if I never lose anything? I read this as I LOSE the items if I choose reborn...

If you choose to be reborn you lose levels on your skills atleast I did, dunno about the ghost thing.

Choosing "Reborn" makes you lose items and proficiency.
Sacrificing a villager keeps your items and stats, at the cost of a Villager.

Exactly how much do you lose, right now I feel like villagers are more valued then stats...

This is a server settings I really want to see...
