Smolkr Horn

How do I get horn of smolkr ? I killed by myself like 16 of them and still didn't get any and I am using the iron knife. Is there anything I should do before getting this ? My hunter also didnt get any and I set it on high

I think it has a really low dropchance, or its the smolkr during the raid attack...
I got 1 horn randomly

I think they might have increased the drop chance but i honestly cant say for sure, i have notoriously strange RNG in games. I have had games in the past where i killed like 20 of the horned smolkrs before a single horn dropped, and more recent games where the first horned smolkr i killed dropped 2 of them, so id like to think its improved overall at least.

What i have discovered is the worlds easiest way to farm them at least, just load a sled/cart with stuff you dont care much about and head out to one of their spawn points. they will come to you:

I just happened to set up shop in a smolkr heavy area, had dozens of corpses lying about. I did pick up 2 horns, but I do have animal pop set to high.

i have noted that they seem to drop when you kill them with an axe, it has happened each time i kill a horned smolkr this way the horn drops

You are correct.

I've gather like 10 horns like that.
Get a cart with you, put some items inside like meat of other stuff.
Get a sword in your hand.
Drag the cart to some place where smolkrs starts to follow you.
Dismount the cart, pull your sword and crouch to foul them to get closer to the cart.
When they do, start killing them :)

Before I restart my game in new location I gotten like 6 of them when I was killing so I thought they just drop as long as I killed it myself. When I restart my game from different location I couldn't get any at all and I killed a lot. I still not able to get and I farmed them where they hang out in the wild.
